So AWESOME! Ok, I gotta break down and get this thing. I think my favorite thing I've seen here are the Ultra Magnus sketches, showing how they start with a model accurate sketch and what they end up with after the actual engineering. Makes me appreciate these figures even more.

Cool! We are actually seeing the card art for Bumblebee and Wheeljack for the first time there! Mine has cleared customs and is winging its way to me; fingers crossed for tomorrow, but I bet it will be Friday. Looking forward to it!

Me too, those card arts are adorable. It's ashamed they don't make those card art bigger, would dearly love to have them in my collection. Wonder if they include the card art for MP22 and SSaber as well?
Those sketches look amazing. The engineer design front view is spot on with the toon sketch. I wish Kobayashi had more time to design the rear view, that UM toon rear sketch looks magnificent and clean.

there is no card art for mp22 or star saber.

this book's pages are thick, super high quality. they also include tidbits of all the variants i.e. bathing ape and eva mode and u.s. releases. there's a timeline of what looks like licensed vehicle lines. also a pretty cool checklist of all the releases with date of release and price

My copy arrived earlier today (I got a delivery confirmation), but I live in an apartment complex where the mail all goes to a central front office...and I didn't make it to that office before it closed. I am in Virginia...so that means they cleared customs fairly quickly.

Now I just have to wait until tomorrow morning...

The book is here and it's so!!!!!!............meh.

This book is not worth the $30. $15 would have been fine, but I instantly regret this purchase.

Next time I think I'll wait until AFTER the reviews come in before I order.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! I flicked through it, I don't think I'll look at it again. Man what a waste.

Could not agree more. Can't possibly ever see myself opening this book again. Not a single shred of new or interesting information.

    What was I thinking?

    Seriously people....don't buy this thing!!!!

But I truly love all the design sketches and prototype shots. Besides the fact that I can't read it, all the visual content is right up my alley.

Yup, I agree with this. I am disappointed that they use stock photography for a lot of the photos, but there is a lot of design work we've never seen in here. Even some prototypes that are different than the final.

It is a real shame that they have used old stock photography for everything (although it was clear from the initial previews that this was going to take up the bulk of the book) - if you have the figures, you pretty much have all those pictures from the boxes anyway. Oh well, I'm still looking forward to flicking through the various design sketches. I've been looking at Randy's description of the contents of the book on the AllSpark, and there seems to be some interesting stuff in there regardless, like how they thought about bundling Bumblebee with MP-08. With that and Hasui's idea of bundling Huffer with MP-10, it sounds as though we could have had a whole different line, with small mini-bots being bundled with larger figures.

It sounds from Randy's description that there are some new pictures of Bumblebee, at least?

Just about the only interesting things are the sketches, like one of Rodimus wearing his trailer like a backpack. But the drawback is the sketches are printed really tiny and they're hard to see, and the stock photos we've all seen a thousand times make up the bulk of the book.

I seriously feel sooooo ripped off right now.

Yes some additional photos from the same photo shoot we've seen before. The ones I remember off hand are some alternate shots of the car and one with his arm raised in the air with his Amazon mask on.

I'm gutted too....but yeah, first world problems, we'll get over it. The phase 2 page with the cartoon MP drawings together is my favourite page.
