Man alive, I'd be all over a hyper-G1 line that was 1:24 scale cars and with bots that looked like their original toys/packaging art but with modern articulation, and gimmicks like storing/fold away weapons!
Hmmm yeah but also the MP photo is taken from a high angle, with the elbows angled forward, which gives a false idea of where they are in relation to his body. I still think the arms are too dainty!
Nah keep the thongs to just fembots :lol

I am loving all the sculpted detail on this! I don’t really collect official MPs any more, and I don’t really need a Skids, but if I did then I’d be all over this one!

That's pretty ugly. Oh well, I don't collect MP anyways so no biggie.

I'm loving it! I remember the thrill of finding G1 Skids in stores - the first "new" Transformer sent to scout ahead for the 85 lineup. Always disappointed he didn't play a larger role in the second season of the cartoon (or any role, really).

Now if we can get him in Alternator colors... ;)

I would imagine so and I don't know. Those really shouldn't be used for the shoulder mounting.

Well I don't care for the "it all fits into my collection" stance ;)

They probably wanted the covers to peg into something, and the hub design on the City Turbo isn't really conducive to that.

Is that a visible hollowed out bicep and big connection slots on the front wheels? I don't think those wheels would've been approved in the alternators days. That doesn't evoke real car, that's real toy. SOmeone must have been a fan of how well rotating connection points worked on XTB boost.

But not hating this guy. Hope he's priced appropriately and sells well. If what was posted is true, love that TT got original designer Ohno involved with this and MP52. Must have been a night and day experience for him. MP52 has him participating in the full blown AAA MP development process with archival research and working with various specialists at TT. THis one involved firing up Hasui's Windows XP laptop and digging through the Rework folder. :)

Do they still make turbos? This seems more Honda/Takara collab vs MP/license. With the anniversary wouldnt be surprised seeing this sold at car shows or included with turbo/Honda purchase next year in Japan.

The MP line confuses the hell out of me now.

I want to be annoyed at yet another change of direction. But, the last few G1s haven't been ideal. So maybe this is a good thing. I don't know anymore.

You can see most of the back of those wheels in robot mode. I'm willing to bet the wheels are just on backwards.

Well, Skids looks great! Alt mode is perfect and bot mode looks good. I look forward to more pics and preorders.
I am hopeful that Honda required TT to include the Moto-Compo.

I'm in! All I need now is the Amazon.jp preorder, or Pulse if it gets me premium status for another year!

I'm sorry but MP Tracks looks nothing like his character model, if that is what you mean with Floro Dery designs. And he is actually one of the worst MP's in articulation, looks, and engineering.

I would instantly jump at a new MP Tracks if it follows the MP concepts used for MP-52 and MP-44.

I don't think this is going in the MP line or it's an old prototype

The atheistic change is one thing but look at the engineering. The Hips are a big tell for me, these are nothing like current MPs

What the hell is going on at Takara these days? What IS this? It's just so outta left field.

Part of me is compelled to get this cause it's so in line with the spirit of the Hasui bots I love so dearly.

But on the other hand, I kind of left the MP collecting behind me a few years ago, and Skids was never very "essential" to me.

    I'm conflicted.

I love that he is getting the opportunity to work on this new one after so long. It will be interesting to see his passion in person once I get one of these.
