It took me a while to see this, so I apologize, but I feel like you completely mischaracterized my argument. First- I didn't say Hasbro was trying to wean us off "war toys," I said they were trying to wean us off "roleplay sized" toys. As in- their core message is "this robot turns into a vehicle." Toys that do not fit into that paradigm: Boomboxes, guns, cameras, etc, dilute the message. So a Sixshot gun is less attractive to the marketing department than a Sixshot submarine. They will go back to the design department and say "let's make it something other than a gun, we're trying to get away from roleplay sized toys"

Second, you went off onto a tangent about how police officers sometimes shoot kids with toy guns. I agree that's a huge problem in the United States and an issue that can and should be addressed specifically by Hasbro. However, you used my argument- that Hasbro would get uncomfortable questions trying to market a Sixshot Gun- into an argument about Hasbro selling realistic looking guns. Sixshot is one of the least realistic looking guns Hasbro has ever marketed. G1 or Titans Return, it doesn't matter. Neither of those look like a gun, even less so that Nerf Megatron. Yes it might get an orange plug, but that's out of an abundance of caution. Nobody is going to start some shit over Sixshot's gun mode.

    It's about lower orders, period.

The bottom line is money. If Walmart has to ask you "does this need to have a gun mode?" you are making less money than if they just say "six different modes?! sign me up!" Hasbro does not care about gun control, they do not care about police violence. The only reason they care about roleplay sized toys is because they see more money in a simpler message. The more questions someone asks before they give you their money, the less money you end up with. That is the only reason Sixshot has a submarine mode instead of a gun mode. There is no law or regulation in the United States that prevents them from selling a laser gun toy that turns them into a robot. There is no parent group that has ever organized a successful boycott over a laser gun toy. It is about a simple marketing message and Hasbro trying to shed anything that doesn't serve that message. The ONLY reason they homage these things AT ALL is because of nostalgia.

Any news on Sixshot's knees? Are they loose like the Hasbro version?

Oh hey do you know if anyone has had this issue with Legends Hot Rod? Other than me... my Firebolt has two right feet, I've been hoping to find someone with two of the left feet to swap with...

Is the molding the same as Hasbros? I remember someone said the inside thighs are suppose to be on the outside especially with all the detailing on the Hasbros and its easy switch, but I havent bothered with it yet.

Mine are super tight. I got my TR Sixshot early, and his are super loose.

Good to hear that later samples are better.

I just got LG49 through 52. Loving them but wow all my concerns about Sixshot's shins were justified and then some - that purple is way too bright, almost pink, and I don't like how it looks with the pale blue of the torso. So I did a little parts-swapping, which turned out to be quite easy luckily (just a matter of three screws).... he still needs the red filled in properly on his eyes (seriously, what happened with this figure?) but that should be a lot easier than repainting the entirety of the lower legs.

    Before and after:

I do think while I'm at it I'll also add those little red highlights back onto the knees, I like those.

It's really quite easy, just unscrew the three screws on the side of the shin, then twist the inner part of the leg off the peg it's on. Please let me know if you need more clarification, I can make pictures but I'm being lazy. :p

^Thanks! but the twisting the inner peg part sounds painful! ouch..
    Does it hinder transformation somewhat?!

As long as you tighten the screws properly, it should transform exactly as intended, since the only difference between the parts you swapped was color.

Anyone have any tips for filling in the eyes? I'm nervous about messing it up, considering it has to be such a small and precise change...

Got my LG50. Did the eye paint.
That face is so bad ass.

I'm not a big fan of panel lining but I want the details to pop out. I'm considering in painting the helmet and face with Tamiya Matte White or Insignia White, hoping the matte paint will highlight the sculpt details.

I apologise for the 90° pics. These are uploaded via mobile and it loves to do this even if the pic is rotated properly.
