I was expecting Takara to only start showing off their versions of Titanmasters in July, going by the 6 month+ delayed release schedule they usually follow.

If they're already appearing in magazines, maybe it's a sign that they'll close the release window gap? Lord I hope so. I hate the fact that after seeing stuff at Toyfair in February I have to wait until December for the Japanese releases. Everyone had already gotten and forgotten about Devastator by the time it was released here.

Hasbro Generally go for toy accurate sculpts, Takara go for show accurate, i thought this was common knowledge?

Still cool though, not enough to warrant a purchase though.

    Didn't know that! thanks!

That actually kinda makes sense honestly, these titan packs actually sounds pretty cool.

    Damn it!

As long as TT informs us as to the final colors for each of their figures before or when Hasbro releases their figures, I can make informed decisions over which I like better.

It isn’t because Takara usually only changes the color scheme. New sculpts are a very rare thing, and I think since it worked well for them with Unite Warriors they’re willing to continue doing it.

So no, it’s not common knowledge because it wasn’t even a thing until very recently.

Exactly! This is a rare thing but it's becoming more and more common for Takara to include new tooling.

Prior to Unite Warriors it was an extreme rarity.

It's quite possible that Takara and Hasbro pre-planned going animation-accurate and toy-accurate, respectively, as their retail releases with Hasbro choosing to release the animation-accurate heads via TitanMasters. So that wouldn't be a case of Takara-exclusive tooling like Blast-off and Groove but a pre-planned design/release plan between the two companies

Inside sources have hinted at us getting both versions. The other as single titan masters. I'm willing to play the "wait and see" game.

The different headsculpts are rather nice, depending on what colours they go with I might go with TT on these two.

I can't wait to see what box sets come out for this line. I think starting with bruticus im going for the takara sets from now on. Just because i want all of them in one box without hunting down individual figures. The hunt sucks balls here in New Jerusalem

The current headsculpts aren't very accurate to the Headmasters anime which was pretty much one of the cornerstones to Japan's continuation of G1.

Did... Did autocorrect just change New Jersey to New Jerusalem?? :lol

I'm not going all in this time... But I will get the figures I think are really cool looking and/or will bolster or replace figures on my Lost Light display.

I just want to see how Tomy is gonna paint the little dudes. Hasbro sure isn't...

The alternate headsculpts from Takara look great!

I wonder how the final Takara products will look. I might do some mix and match with the heads and bodies if the coloration on Hasbro's versions end up being the better looking ones.

While I'm fine with hasbro skullcruncher I feel a MIGHTY NEED for a no faceplate hardhead.

Aside from the toy no version of hardhead has a faceplate and that's how I prefer it. Unless there's confirmation of the single packed alternate head I'm going TT for my hardhead

We know Hasbro will be selling the heads separately; maybe the separate ones will be retools or alternate versions? Considering they brought over takaras exclusive cw molds, i honestly wouldnr be surprised. Its a quick way to get more money out of diehard fans like us. I know for a fact that id buy a separate titan master for $6 or whatever to have a hardhead with a mouth.
