This is interesting that they are just going to start releasing these in their Legends line up instead of creating a new line for them, like Unite Warriors.

I love what they did here, I wasn't for sure that they would bother. However, I want a Fortress Maximus with the Sunbow/Marvel Cerebros head. But I know I will prefer the TakaraTomy Fortress Maximus release, and that release is clearly going to have the Headmasters/toy version Cerebros head. That is going to be a real tough decision. I guess I have to hope the Hasbro Cerebros head gets released individually somehow, or maybe knocked off, because I won't buy the Hasbro Maximus just for it.

 

Looks like I'll be going with TakTom once again.

 

Wonder if these are future Titan Master figures in the making.

I suspect that we will see remolded headmaster heads, plus bodies for all of the G1 headmasters so far (even the ones Hasbro has only made heads of), witth remolded/repainted alt modes (e.g.,Chromedome's body for Nightbeat, etc).

I also believe we will see:
- Remolded regular heads for the bots not supposed to be headmasters (as it seems that the headmasters fit inside/under a helmet anyway).
- Remolded arms Microns/minicons or even new molds as targetmasters and powermasters.
- Remolded Powermaster Optimus Prime that features a removable cab/robot, powermaster and hopefully God Ginrai later on.
- Breastmasters and Powermasters.

It will be called "Transformers: - 2016" or something like that.

And it will be glorious.

 

Don't forget, the rumor mill says that the Hasbro ones will come with one head and an alternate head will be available later as a single pack with a vehicle. We're most likely just looking at the alternate heads as the standard release for Tomy.

 

Well that's interesting. Skullcruncher's face is such an improvement over the Hasbro offering, in my opinion. Though this new development does beg the question: will Takara Brainstorm have a face-plate or will he be Japanese toon accurate? (dun dun dun)

 

These heads look great, very nice.

Looking at these headsculpts, I'd say a toon accurate had for Brainstorm is very likely.

 

If they gave Skull / Skullcruncher a new face, who's Hasbro face features the details based on the original cartoon & toy just a bit more stylized, you can bet they're going to give Chromedome and Brainstorm new anime style faces.
