Different face sculpts? Cool.

Like CW I will be waiting to see all the Takara products first before buying anything. Nowadays it seems like a crapshoot what mold changes they will make.

 

Decisions to be made once again.

 

Is down on both knees praying for Titanmasters versions of these heads with the new faces....

I only like the Takara Skullcruncher face better.

Yep looks like Takara is already remolding to make them more show accurate, can't wait to see their Fort Max.

 

Excellent! Hardhead with a mouth is my preferred appearance.

I suppose this could mean that Chromedome will have a G1 head rather than his IDW noggin and Brainstorm could also have a mouth.

 

Buh?! Takara actually retooled these figures with different head sculpts? I know that Takara have developed a reputation for improving Hasbro's molds, but this seems like a rather extravagant expense. It's not like there was anything wrong with the old sculpts. I guess we'll see how these figures look in colour.

 

Yup, seems like it's Takara all the way for me once again. New (IMO better) headsculpts, and the premium paint these will undoubtedly have. Good to hear that they will join the Legends-line instead of a new subline.

And these getting new headsculpts makes me really excited to see what they'll do with Powermaster Prime. The original figure has an important part in Japanese Transformers history as Super Ginrai after all.

 

I guess the paint job will be the deciding factor for me.

I'm keeping my Universe Hardhead with Headrobots update since I think is a better representation of the character but Skullcruncher looks pretty good so far. I hope that Takara doesn't go for the G1 aesthetic for Chromedome, MTMTE Chromedome is the most interesting version of the character.

 

Looks like I'll be buying both versions of Titan Returns. I love the idea of collecting and swapping the heads, so it's not a big loss.

TakaraTomy aren't any wasting time getting the Headmasters out.

 

Yeah but it is only half the head, just the face piece. Hasbro i think are going to sell alternate heads for all the headmaster in seperate packs anyway. So we might see these very sculpts(who knows). Hoping i am not going to spend the year constantly being torn from one to other, what to buy.

But there could be 3 variations, idw, toy and toon. Yikes

 

I too am keen to see if they make any changes. I doubt they'll give us non-hollow arms, but almost certainly better paint apps.

 

Hope these heads are available down the line in single packs here. Don't care about the hardhead head but skullcruncher looks waaaay better

 

Not so big of a retool. Assuming the rest of the 'masters parts are the same, it's just 1 new face piece per character that is new. And for all we know Hasbro could be planning to use these anime-acurate faces for the "titan master" class toys later. So buying both Hasbro Deluxe plus Hasbro 'titan master' could equal a 'Takara version' in shape. The only difference could be paint jobs.
