Walmart just canceled my preorder. Has anyone in the US found this guy in store yet?

I just got notified mine was delivered (assuming what's in the box is correct...)

But a couple weeks ago Walmart canceled my preorder of MOTU Origins Roton because it was "out of stock". I go onto the Walmart website and it's available to order, I order it and it's delivered that night. Seems Walmart's "global online" orders and "local online" orders do not communicate with each other. Might be worth it to still keep on eye on Walmart's website for when/if it becomes available to order again.

I LOVE this figure. Astrotrain was my favorite figure from Siege (next to Jetfire) and I have wanted one in the black & white Japanese deco for a long time. I’ve also wanted a new Galaxy Shuttle for many years and this release marries those two desires perfectly. The head sculpt is fantastic and the Victory V painted on the side looks great.

No QC issues at all on mine, although the wings are scary tight when folding, something I don’t recall being an issue with Astrotrain.

I have Siege Astrotrain, and it is...fine...but this guy, this guy really trips my trigger. Funny how a simple deco change and headswap can accomplish turning a person completely around on a mold.

No QC issues, all joints tabs and pegs are tight. Ankle tilts are so tight I am concerned about the tiny pegs that stabilize the assembly, but that can be overcome simply by un-pegging, positioning to the desired tilt angle, and re-pegging.

The colors really work on this toy even though it's pretty much just black and white and I absolutely LOVE the new headsculpt.

This is my first time with this mold but I'm not crazy about some of the train bits, specifically the wheel parts on the back of the wings flop around in robot mode on my copy. Also the coal car doesn't lie completely flat in launch pad mode, but that might just be my copy.

At the end of the day I'm happy to see Galaxy Shuttle get some major love like this, but if I'm being greedy I REALLY wish they woulda dusted off the Armada Jetfire mold with a new head instead...

Armada Jetfire is a thicc boi and IMO suffers from having to also serve as Armada OP's Power Up Pants. I think the ideal thing would have been a modernized Legacy Armada Jetfire with Galaxy Shuttle redeco.

But still, I'm happy with what we've got.

Galaxy Shuttle has been collecting dust ever since he got released at my local WM. I'll only consider buying him on deep, deep clearance.

Well, I got one as a gift, which was super nice...

Being a reuse of Astrotrain, I already knew this mold so no surprises, but I do love the recolor of it, as it does look absolutely great. I love that they painted the wheels as I ended up painting my Astrotrain quite a bit and I don't feel like this guy needs customizing.

BUT.... Like Astrotrain, I ended up with a missing part. Astrotrain was returned and exchanged at the time, but this guy I didn't feel like dealing with that and being a gift, it kinda sucked... The issues was that it was missing one of the smaller wheels. I do plan to get into 3d printing at some point but for now, I wiped out one of my Christmas presents that I had yet to try out: a 3d print pen... And short version, it was my first use, first test, first project. Results: a bit of swearing, took two attempts but the results are an actually functional wheel... Far from precise, but better than the empty gap it had with the missing wheel... It even snaps in perfectly. It did require some sanding and reshaping as I could with tools, but I'm pretty happy after all.

    My replacement wheel:

So aside the missing wheel quality issue, it's a figure that does looks great, with a great compliment of accessories (sadly, I will have to fix the box due to Hasbro being too stupid/cheap to do a running fix to fix the issue with it not unfolding flat).

It's odd to have an Autobot Astrotrain and I do wish that they would have done more changes, but it's still a great mold.

Had mine a few days now. It's my first experience with the mould, since I thought Astrotrain looked on the bland side, but in these colours, Galaxy Shuttle pops hard!

    IMG_20230124_222428002_HDR.jpg

The figure is fun, but really suffers from the "Voyager with shoes" syndrome of some WFC Leaders, especially when compared to current new releases like LE Voyager Leo Prime, who seems just as substantial of a figure. Good job I paid under half price for it, or I might have felt underwhelmed.

If anyone's itching to get a Galaxy Shuttle, I'd just point out to watch for the paint - the stark black/white contrast shows up any paint rubbing or chipping very easily, and it can start to look a mess around the wing hinges if you're not careful going back & forth to train mode.

He definitely looks a lot nicer than Astrotrain in terms of the paint job, but the mold itself I was never super impressed with. I might have change of heart if I had the figure in hand? It's happened before certainly. Maybe if he ends up discounted

I was happy to pass on this but I happened to see it for £25 recently so I just had to have it. I’m happy with that. I’d have severe buyer’s remorse if I paid full price for it.
