Nemesis Convoy...I LIKE it! Stealing this to rename the 2017 Tokyo Toy Show exclusive. This Scourge is just too much of a Black Convoy homage to be called Scourge. He's going to be the new Black Convoy on my shelf among the other Heralds of Unicron.

He's pretty good. I don't have the Legacy Laser OP tooling so this is my first dance with him.

Has anyone chromed his truck mode out yet? I'm inclined to give it a shot.

It'd be pretty easy to do w/ chrome pens, but I was waiting to see what toyhax will come up with.

Do we have a winner for "Longest name for a Transformer"? Because I think we might just!

Having not gotten Laser Prime I will be, for my part, discussing just how he feels on his own and not compared to any other figure.

Alt Mode: We've gotten a lot of semis hauling different loads in the last few years but I must admit that Scourge looks original enough thanks to the tanker he is hauling. The alt mode is very clean in terms of seams and designs and the tanker part is nice and different while also having a ton of sculpted detail. The color choices truly do make him stand out against Earthrise Optimus and Shattered Glass Optimus.

Transformation: If you have Earthrise Optimus then the legs will be insanely familiar. It is the upper body where things are different, yet also invoking the Earthrise figure in that you are basically unfolding the chest and then refolding it once pieces are moved into position.

Bot mode: Oh, he is an attention getter! Black with pink and metalic light blue accents Scourge truly does stand out rather quickly. The upper body is a bit small when compared to the legs but that is a minor nitpick and the shoulders might also be causing it to look off. Possibility is rather good, with a long of joints for getting him into some epic shots.

Tanker piece: Honestly this suffers from the same issues most trailers have in transfomers: They want it to DO something but what it does isn't interesting. Very much a Motormaster situation the tanker becomes a weapon's platform that most people won't even bother to transform as it just looks like a tanker that has been split apart.

Accessories: You get four of them: a clear pink sword, a "shield"/"axe" which more looks like a shield on a stick, a matrix, and a double barrel round gun. The sword and the gun are probably the best items while the shield/axe is the weakest... it just looks very odd. You can combine the first three into a larger sword for Scourge, so that is something. Still, I'd have prefered getting a second gun over the odd axe.

Overall: A very nice figure. You are getting a Voyager at leader class pricing, let's be clear, but the tanker does justify that price.

Mine arrived today. Haven't had a change to open him up but I love the artwork on the box and I am a massive nemesis/scourge fan.

He was the one i wanted the most from the velocitron line.

Being a chump for the character, I picked this Scourge figure up as soon as I saw it.

First impressions: this mold is not very good. The figure is all legs, it looks like a deluxe's chest on a voyager's waist. The upper arms are way too skinny, and the shoulderpads not moving only makes them seem even smaller. His shoulder and elbow joints are super weak. None of the weapons interact very well, there's not enough 5mm pegs to hold or store or combine this stuff; there's also too many non-standard tabs in the way of pegs or pegholes. The trailer is tiny and hollow and unrewarding, its main claim to fame is a tiny turret gun that ends up Scourge's only pistol, and it's not good enough on its own or at the top of the repair bay tower, which itself is way too small to actually do the job. His lower legs are hollow in the back for no real benefit except weight-saving, which on a $56 figure that's otherwise super light is unacceptable. The deco is missing some of the gray that the character originally enjoyed, and it appears to have been an intentional choice, a little more Nemesis Prime than Scourge/Black Convoy. The vehicle mode wheels don't roll for crap. The vestigial panels on the knees from the Siege Optimus are supposed to lock the arm kibble on the back of the cab in place, but usually end up dislodging them instead. The robot transformation is needlessly convoluted and frustrating. The forearms look more hollow than they actually are due to a 5mm peg on the underside showing through the elbow area. The trailer as a base sucks, the tower is too short and there's less defensive walls, less weapons, and no usable spots to mount the axe as a secondary gun.

Now, what is good? The deco may not be accurate but it is decent, the gray on the legs looks really nice and the metallic teal is spot on; the light-piped eyes are fantastic. The weapons integrate on either truck mode or inside the trailer, the one good thing the trailer's useful for. The trailer-as-base's tower has a fun little fold up thing happening, and it rotates, is even removable. The matrix storage works well and looks decent. There's a fill-in panel on the gaps on the back of the cab in bot mode. The flip-up shoulder missile pods are fun. The trailer can fold down the grip to act as a forward stand.

Ultimately, this figure had potential and, as I'm a chump for Scourge, I can accept this because I am a sucker, but I couldn't recommend it. It's such a massive step backwards from the previous two Optimus Prime molds, and needlessly fritters away opportunities left and right. If it even just came with more handguns for the character to hold I could have talked myself into enjoying this more, but it shrugs those all off.

If you don't mind thinking outside the box, you can make storage for the sword and turn the tower into a mega-gun: scourge1.jpg

Received mine from walmart.com order. Head & eyes are perfect. Transformation is solid. Paint job looks odd next to large/small/mini RID Scourges from 20 years ago, or that Legend-EX Black Convoy from a few years back. But we've seen this same deco from TFCC subscription figure before.
Toy is a repaint of laser optimus, very nice touch on the cover/open of laser missiles. Designers these days no longer force gimmicks into every toy, usually just the ones that make you go, kudos.

My G2 Nemesis Prime just arrived. He's staying in the box until I see what Toyhax has planned for this figure. If their set makes G2NP into a good Scourge, I'll open him, otherwise I'm flipping it.

This is the deco the mold deserves, I enjoyed laser Prime but something about them felt bland and after getting scourge it's clear the issue was the deco. Here the deco far more cohesive with black being the central color across the figure. The glossy black, metallic cyan, strawberry clear had much more thought put into them than laser Prime. To top it off the use of great light piping gives this figure a presence the prime deco wish it'd have 20220813_144312.jpg 20220813_144300.jpg

Stupid question: is the shield part supposed to collapse completely? Mine collapses at a slight angle.

I really want to like this guy, but the inaccurate robot mode colors throw me every time. It's a tough decision... maybe I'll just wait for Hasbro to make a more accurate redo.

I disagree. This is the deco the mold deserves.

We’ve got enough Nemesis Primes. Hasbro had a chance to give us a great Scourge and blew it big time. Hopefully Toyhax to the rescue.

Looks a little more than 10.

It should close fully and even go past a little bit.

I'd love to get some premium finish or something like it for legacy releases including scourge but as is I still think it looks good and way better than the laser Prime deco

PF line unfortunately has been pretty bad so far. SS BB OP is decent, though.
