    Regarding the plastic free packaging
Hasbro have gone back to clear plastic with their black series figures after general fan uproar over the plastic free boxes.

So if they have done that with SW surely tf aren't far behind

It's because they clearly prioritize Generations reveals more than anything and they've set some form of expectation in the past. The last 2 Legacy lines were handled much better marketing wise than United is right now.

After my comment, I realized that I might have exaggerated because I didn’t go to Walmart since the holidays. Well I actually went today aaaand nope. Still up to the Crankcase/Pointblank/Skullgrin wave for deluxe and core. Strangely the voyagers were Bludgeon/Trashmaster. They’re also still selling 86 Kup and Blurr that they keep restocking for years now. The rest was clogged with ROTB and Earthspark. Only decent thing, they had retro Blaster and Soundwave and 2 86 Snarl

I'm more suspicious than ever that one of the major retailers doesn't want to navigate preorders for these anymore - in stock drops only as much as possible for retail waves. Also they want foot traffic, so they want to to hamstring online alternatives. So Hasbro waits and doesn't offer them up at all even via Pulse.

Target seems to be the worst at it right now, so they're my chief suspect.

Tf aren’t going back to plastic. Hasbro said only the action figures lines like Star Wars and marvel legends were. As TF’s are made of tougher materials, they’re happy to have them open to the air. We’re never getting the plastic back

Never say never. Maybe. The boxes need to be a tad sturdier. I've seen too many legacy figs in shelves with torn packaging which doesn't look good.

The current packaging gets so torn up and beaten that I don’t buy in stores anymore unless there’s a steep discount. It’s online or bust for me with how many rips and dents and scratched up faces I see.

Yeah that's why I wish they would return to the old packaging. There are way too many rips, dents and scratches on these packaging.

Of course not. An executive made this stupid decision and we all know that executives are always right. Must save face at all costs! wHy dOnT kIdS wAnT tOyS aNyMoRe?1

Not that it matters when they've made a suicide pact with retailers to never ever have product available in stores.

Not to mention broken parts and missing pieces. Probably why they put the chest in the extra package. Glad the OP mentioned that, because if I saw it like that, I would have started griping about packaging right there as proof of my point.

they said they went with open packaging because thats what got better results in kid focus groups, which TFs still have but SW B’ack series doesnt.

but that can always be changed, which seems to be the case New Packaging Design for Hasbro Collector Brands Including Transformers This Fall

    Yeesh, American shoppers are savages.

I've pretty much never seen that up in Canada. Maybe the occasional box with a smashed-in corner after it was dropped on the floor or such, but those are uncommon enough occurrences that it's clear it was just an accident, and not a deliberate act of theft/vandalism.

One of these days I’ll escape to your country and live amongst my fellow enjoyers of peace… People here can be downright disgusting, I don’t blame the rest of the world for American stereotypes. Are all people here brutes? No, but you might think that after visiting a Walmart toy aisle.

I need to order Gears, Sandstorm, Starscream, and.. huh. Already have Shard. I have Silverbolt coming from AJ (already paid). I don’t need Chromia and if she ends up cheap I’ll get her later..
