especially with other victory stuff coming that’s very show accurate

 

Robot modes aren't good looking, dino modes are really ugly IMO... And then the combined mode just looks like some kind of Dollar Tree knockoff.

If you want it I'm not gonna say boo about your decision, but for me it's a pretty much "meh" with this set.

 

Is anyone seeing a place for combiner feet? Or is it looking like Grimlock is leg and foot?

 

These guys are self-contained. No extra combiner add-ons. Grimlock's claws are the toes, and his weapon forms the heel.

 

Unfortunately it looks like Grimlock is gonna be leg and foot judging by the dino feet's placement.

I like them because they're fun. It's not just more Show Accuracy But Tiny For Show Accuracy But Tiny's sake. That they combine is more interesting to me than the alternative.

 

Yeah Grimlock as a leg looks weird, I legitimately thought the back of the Dinosaur mode was going to be used as the front side of the leg seeing how big it is but it isn't. But as he is, the leg mode is too blocky regardless. Will still get in the end because I'm a sucker for combiner but perhaps a 6-man combiner in Core Class is a little too much. If it was a 3-man combiner like the Mini-Con teams then maybe it could work out better.

Armada is super accurate because it's one of the few shows to retain the blocky real robot like styling and proportions that is shared with G1 and this extends to the rest of the Unicron Trilogy. After that I'm not sure where it started, either the Bayformers or Animated but the robot mode proportions have suddenly gone stylish and more human like. Probably because the designs became animated first then toys second rather than toys first and the animation adapting that toy into the cartoon/anime.

 

........I don't recall saying that everyone who liked it would. But so far, I don't feel like any of them are even worth a penny. Besides, I've got a Classic mini Combiner set that's taller and arguably better quality:

I like that they combine honestly, and I'm definitely getting them because of that.

 

I’m skipping on the Dinobots because I’m getting Dinoking. He will be small and fun. No complaints here. Most of the complaints are dumb imo.

 

We have a similar opinion and yes agreed I'll be getting Dinoking instead too.

 

Oh, I thought that was a serious comment, cause some figures are now selling for 6 to 9.

Yeah same, Dinoking is hopefully gonna be great, I love the Dinobots but dont really have a need for mini versions of bots ive already got, now Japanese original deceptions? that sounds fun! Gotta admit though these Dinobots are looking hecking cute, and glad to see Volcanicus becoming a more common thing

The real question is what and how much is retooled and redeco’d on Dinoking.
obviously the head, but will they do the chest and potentially different feet. Maybe even the axe?
I like the potential it has my only issue is how much deco budget does it have, I’d assume a good amount if it’s gen selects but if it’s anything else I worry.

 

I find people complaining about how small this is a bit unfair. This was always going to be a thing thatd be an issue. When combining multiple bots to form a combiner, your always going to have something that is arguably smaller than you could have gotten otherwise. Menasor is an example. 80, 25, 25, 25, 25 at 180, its only 10 less than the Titan class nowadays, and far smaller. But it's not a fair comparison

Could it have been bigger? Yes. I think had they been all deluxes so many problems could be solved. It might even be star saber sized at that price

But I think this looks good. All quarrels aside, the fact they managed to make grimlock a non partsforming foot is impressive, and im excited to see Snarl and skar

I hope they'll do more core class combiners, whether that ve classic ones like bruticus, or the old micromaster ones. Either us fine

 

I would say new combined head is probably all you should expect. I’m curious what they do with deco though, my hope is that they’ll use the inner robot deco, if they use the shell decos then Dinoking will look totally wrong.

 

In the anime Dinoking was the same size as other combiners and Victory Saber. That's is the toy most of us want.

 

I need the Dinoking version of these in voyager-size with all the joints these figures are lacking.
