Yup, might even allow the combiner to be slightly bigger than how Volcanicus currently is.

Like, no? It's not insane? That's how combiners have always stacked up. They cost more per square inch because -- and this is important -- they are made of smaller guys. When you buy a Commander Class toy, each leg does not have the equivalent density and parts count of a smaller self-contained toy. That's just not how it works, nor how it's ever worked.

    A Defensor in the 80s was $35 -- four limbs for $5 each, plus a $15 torso.

Blaster, a toy who had an inch or so on Defensor, was $20.

You paid almost twice as much for the combiner team to get a smaller toy. Why? Density.

    It's no different today.

I mean, a Commander in 2019 would’ve been £80, and a Combiner would’ve been £96, that’s just £16 of difference for a Commander of equal stature. Today, that is £90 for a Commander and £84 for a Core Combiner that is less than a half of a Commander’s height. However you look at it, the prices are getting a bit mad.

I think people would be okay with Pretender Monsters who were Core-sized but sold at the Deluxe price point, say with something to justify the cost like a monster shell, just so they could have actual articulation and combine. At least, that's what I want.

Hah! I misread that as Tetanus, and I think it makes it even funnier.

I might in the end too (maybe - hard to say, really, at this point). That is after all why I have the clones from the last few years, even though they stand out like sore thumbs on my shelves. But I'm willing to wait and see for a couple of years first. Seems unlikely to me that Hasbro won't return to the Dinoforce if the cores sell well, especially as they have now established that JG1 does sell.

Although it sells, hasbro still prefers to commit to more popular western series and characters, gotta get through them before they hit JG1 thoroughly

Any chance Grimlock has weapon storage in bot mode? Slag / Slug can store his weapon on his back using the port for the Volcanicus head

Might still pick up Volcanicus but not looking forward to the Dinoking version, as it'll be inaccurate in all modes and be absolutely tiny compared to everything else it should go with. If it were accurate with the monster inner robots and dinosaur shells? Hell yeah fuck scale I'll take it. But with it being like this I don't really see a need for Decepticon colored Volcaninus personally.

We're already seeing that with stuff like 86 Hot Rod and Legacy Blitzwing and if the people you're referring to are the people here that has most certainly *not* won over a very vocal portion.

    Or 1 Core + 4 Deluxes!

You know, the Core being... the Core of the combiner.

I'm still kinda hoping the Swoop figure doesn't turn out to be as much of a tumorous or misshapen things as his fellows.
I'd really like a core class Swoop that mostly resembles an actual Swoop.
