@GAUGE any chance the real Rhino jaw bends back behind the robot head in robot-mode?
Yep, it has already been shown in the review thread.
I tried numerous times. I just can't get past those crappy robot mode legs of his.
The fact that Hasbro couldn't even be bothered to have the Netflix Version have painted shins astounds me.
Here you go! I even posed him next to all the other Maximals.
I know I'm gonna be bashed from the "the days of lazy repaints/retools is over" crowd, but I really want a Selects figure of this guy as Stranglehold. Don't know how they'd do it, but I'd like a Pretender Shell/Robot mode hybridization like they've done with Bludgeon.
Does anyone have a plausible explanation for what happened here? We get a new figure which hits US retail before the stolen samples hit YouTube. It shows up in roughly three states (Utah, Arizona and Nevada) in small quantities, and doesn't appear to be street dated as people are easily able to purchase it. But then....that's it? Doesn't show up in other states, doesn't show up in stock with online retailers, etc.
The only thing that makes sense is that this was meant to be street-dated and that Hasbro asked Target to hold the stock for later distribution, or else a small amount of stock was accidentally sent out early and only hit one Target distribution center to the southwest US area. This sort of thing has occasionally happened at a single store with Marvel Legends figures or MotU figures, I believe.
Either way, I find the whole thing damned peculiar.
Im gonna chalk it up to the same thing that happened to BBTS so far with Galvatron. Target just got a partial shipment.
Well, here we are a week later and still no further sign of a retail release of Rhinox. I haven’t even seen anything indicating that he’s been released overseas with the other new Kingdom stuff, nor have I seen YT videos with stolen factory samples from the usual suspects. I don’t mind waiting to get Rhinox, it’s just bugging me not to have a confirmed explanation for why this thing showed up the way it did and then just stopped.
Easy explanation is that a store put some out before they were supposed to
I hate that Target has put the idea in people's heads that normal waves of mainline figures are street dated. Target is the only store where these dates appear and they're generally tied to their own dept resets or online preorders. I've seen cases of figures on pallets and there are no street dates printed on the box for these things.
Then why haven't we seen or heard of Targets doing this in other states, or people who work there posting images of the cases in the back room? When is the last time a new figure shipped out and was on hold for a street date and we didn't know about it from such things?
Didn't say anything about street dates, but that Target probably got a case earlier than it was scheduled to. The fact that it rang up and was purchasable shows it wasn't street dated in their system. The reason other Targets haven't done it is either their employees haven't put it out early or they haven't received them yet.
Yup. There wasn't a hard street date, just a soft one for the reset.
Target was just trolling tfw2005 with this release I bet!
I found them at the Boise Target in Idaho. They had two and I left them both there as I’m not collecting the Maximals. He looks like a chunky boy in the box.
They've also shown up in Illinois and Ohio. So Rhinox is getting around now.
His transformation is pretty damn good. Those legs hold a lot of rhino including an extra set of beast legs with knee articulation.
So I found Kingdom Rhinox at Target yesterday. I got it and it's left rear Rhino leg is missing. I just wanted to let people know there are defective ones out there.
