The Plot: Prologue: One year ago, the Transformers began their war anew on Earth. 6 Months ago, five humans discovered them and have been sharing in their battles since. The Autobots have made Earth their new home, to protect it from the Decepticons. The Decepticons seek to conquer it; and use its vast natural resources to launch a campaign to the stars. The Setting: This is based off of Classics/Updated G1, with some influences from all universes. Other Notes: We're trying this one more time, guys. Episode 1 "More Than Meets The Eye": Prologue: "This is insane," Bumblebee grumbled as he hung upside down, swinging back and forth in an attempt to grab an ancient Cybertronian relic, the Maelstrom. "Oh, come on, Grimlock won't drop you...will ya, Grimmie?" Sideswipe said with a laugh, looking over to the large silver and gold Autobot, who was kneeling down and holding Bumblebee from the outcropping. They were deep inside a cavern, and they had a small advantage on the Decepticons, and they were desperately trying not to lose it. "If you shut up, Me Grimlock won't drop," Grimlock growled in reply. "Right!" Bumblebee replied, shifting his body weight and trying again, "Why aren't you doing this, 'Swipe? You have the jetpack!" "You need someone to catch you if you fall. If I fall, I can't catch me!" Bumblebee finally grabbed a hold of one of the handles, replying sarcastically "Right...perfectly sound logic there."' His free hand suddenly flew to the side of his head as the loud sound of jet engines echoed through the cavern. Sideswipe looked up to see three jets zoom from one end of the cavern right for them. Bumblebee swung in place; legs still held by Grimlock, and right hand still on the Maelstrom, "Are they crazy, this is a cave!" "Decepticons not known for their brains," Grimlock replied, letting go of one of Bumblebee's legs and pulling his laser rifle off his back, firing at the Seekers. "Grimlock!" Bumblebee yelled as he twisted around. Sideswipe grabbed Bumblebee's other leg, "I got ya, buddy! Do you have the Maelstrom?" "No, it's in tight!" "Where the slag is Optimus?!" Grimlock yelled as he fired a few more shots at the approaching Seekers. ---<--->--- "Prime!" Megatron yelled as swung his mace at Optimus Prime, near one of the entrances to the caverns. Optimus rolled out of the way, and got a shot off from his rifle before having to jump back from another strike. High above their heads, Jetfire and Black Shadow dueled in the air, guns blazing. Jetfire shot both of his shoulder cannons, "Your days are numbered, Black Shadow!" Black Shadow deftly dodged the blasts before firing two of his own, one of which nailing Jetfire in the shoulder. "Highly unlikely, Jetfire..." "You've got a train to catch, Autobots!" Astrotrain yelled as he slammed into Wheeljack, sending him spinning into a nearby tree. Arcee slid behind him and fired multiple very accurate shots from his blaster rifles. Astrotrain turned and fired, distracted long enough for Wheeljack to jump on him and pull him back. Arcee spun out of the way of the laser blast and ran forward, jumping, doing a somersault, and slamming her feet right into Astrotrain's chest just as Wheeljack jumps out of the way. Wheeljack rolled behind a tree, as Bumblebee's voice came over his comm, "Hey, 'Jackie, we could use some help right about now. Starscream and his friends are here!" "You've got Grimlock, can't you handle it?" Wheeljack replied. "Look dude, I'm hanging upside down, attempting to dodge laser fire while Grimlock holds onto me with one arm and firing with the other. Sideswipe has Skywarp covered, but we're sitting petrorabbits!" Wheeljack shook his head, "Just great. We're so out of shape. Arcee and I are getting our can kicked by Astro-" He was interrupted by the sound of Arcee slamming into the tree next to them. Slightly annoyed, she asked, "Hey, a little help here?" "Right," Wheeljack nodded, putting a hand to the side of his head, "Optimus, Bumblebee's in trouble!" Optimus jumped over Megatron, and elbowed him in the back, before spinning away and shooting him again. Megatron laughed, over hearing the message, "Your team appears to be having problems, Prime!" Optimus ducked a shot from Megatron's fusion cannon before running forward and tackling the Decepticon leader, slamming him into a rock wall. "My team is always prepared!" Optimus said determinedly, before punching Megatron square in the jaw. "Not this time...you are weak, unfocused!" Megatron shouted, grabbing Optimus by the torso and shoulder and throwing him to the side. ---<--->--- "Uh...um...yow!" Bumblebee yelled, swinging back and forth like a pendulum. He had lost grip of the Maelstrom, and was now just praying to Primus that Grimlock held on to him. Out of the corner of his optic, he saw Starscream and Slipstream fire on Grimlock at once, knocking him back...and loosening his grip. Bumblebee screamed as he fell, but it was only for a brief time as a pair of red-and-grey armored arms grabbed him, "Told ya that I'd catch ya!" "You would not believe how glad I am that you're right, 'Swipe," Bumblebee said with a nervous laugh. Sideswipe flew straight up, turning tightly heading back toward the outcropping. He dropped Bumblebee on the ground next to Grimlock and deactivated his jetpack. Together, the three Autobots fired. "Where's Skywarp?" Bumblebee asked. "Behind you!" Skywarp yelled as he fired on Sideswipe and Bumblebee. Grimlock growled loudly, "Enough!" He turned around, grabbed Skywarp, who suddenly began yelling and tossed him at Starscream and Slipstream. "Look out!" Slipstream cried as Skywarp crashed into them, knocking the three into the rocky cavern wall. Starscream yelled and hit Skywarp, "You clumsy oaf! We had them!" Bumblebee looked to Sideswipe, "Get the Maelstrom, it's loose, you just need to give it a good pull!" Sideswipe nodded, "Gotcha!" He jumped thematically off of the outcropping, flipped through mid-air, activated his jetpack and flew up to where the Maelstrom was. He grabbed it, and pulled hard. It gave way from the rock and Sideswipe shouted, "I got it!" Bumblebee put his hand to his head, and quickly said, "We got it, Prime, get Jetfire to open the ground bridge!" Sideswipe flew up and landed next to Bumblebee and Grimlock. "Let's get out of here!" Grimlock saw the Seekers renewing their attack. Pulling his shield off of his back, he motioned for them to move, "Let's go, I'll cover the rear!" Sideswipe and Bumblebee began running with Grimlock close behind them, holding his shield up and running backward. ---<--->--- Megatron yelled as he heard Starscream's voice, "Lord Megatron, the Autobots have the Maelstrom! They are heading for the surface!" "Megatron!" Optimus yelled, getting his attention. "What?!" Megatron snarled in reply. Optimus ran forward and began swinging punches, "I...told...you...so!" ending in a sharp uppercut that knocked Megatron back. "Ground bridge will be open in moment, Optimus!" Jetfire yelled over his comm, dodging a blast from Black Shadow. Optimus just hoped everyone would get out safely.
Grimlock's arm started to hurt a bit with trying to hold his shield up while running backwards to give cover to Sideswipe and Bumblebee. He growled in frustration as he got out his laser rifle to fire on the Seekers. He started firing but to his dismay he missed every shot due to his hands shaky from trying to run at the same time. He knew he couldn't use his shield forever but then he noticed a loose large tree branch just above the Seekers. He fired on the branch's loose roots causing it to crack and then falling on top of his targets then backed away quickly to avoid the branch's fall. Arcee slowly lifted herself up to make sure she didn't hurt herself more due to the beating she got from Astrotrain. She gave an annoyed glance at her partner before she started to get out her blaster rifles to fire on Astrotrain's legs. "Try using your moves again with your knees fried!" She yelled as she fired her blasters at his kneecaps.
Wheeljack returned a surprised look to Arcee before getting to his feet. Wheeljack had recently been on missions with his partner, Arcee. He used to work on his own until he was assigned as a partner to her and ever since that mission on, he always stuck to her on the battlefield. He snapped back into reality and saw Arcee fire her blasters at Astrotrain. He immediately charged at him with his swords drawn. As he approached Astrotrain, everything started to slow down before he thrusted his sword into Astrotrain's spark chamber. At least, where he thought was Astrotrain's spark chamber.
“Ha, nice shot Grimlock!” Bumblebee commented, looking over his shoulder to see the three Seekers get hit by the tree branch. Then he noticed the angry looks on the faces of the three. “Uh-oh looks like they’re angrier now.” “You’re going to pay for that!” Starscream snarled as he got away from the branch, aiming one of his null rays at Grimlock and firing several shots, not noticing if he managed to hit him or not. He then transformed so he could manage to catch up to the Autobots faster. “Skywarp, Slipstream, hurry up! They’re getting away with the Maelstrom!” Starscream did not want to be the one to face Megatron if the Autobots were able to get away with the Maelstrom. No doubt the Decepticon leader would end up blaming him for the loss. And past experiences had shown that the results would not be pleasant for him… or for anyone else afterwards.
"Well no slag, Starscream!" Slipstream said in her usual sarcastic tone. She transformed and flew towards the trio of Autobots. She would've just rained laserfire upon them, but she could damage the Maelstrom. And it would be better for her to take down their defense and let the others deal with them. "Take this you overgrown lummox!" She said as she fired her null rays at full blast at Grimlock. -------- Black Shadow transformed and flew towards Jetfire at Mach 5 speeds, ramming into him. "This is one of my favorite pastimes Jetfire, it's a little game I like to call 'Pin the Autobot to the Ground'!" He said as he he slowly lowered his trajectory.
"Thanks Bee!" Grimlock said while he gets his shield up again to block the lasers fired by Starscream. "It helps that these sorry excuse for fliers have such small brains!" He turned and attempted to fire his gun at Skywarp when he then saw Slipstream fire her null rays at him. He tried to block it with his shield but the laser manged to hit him and send him flying a mile. He crashed near a wall then he slowy got back up giving a glare at Slipstreamthen pounding his fist to the ground he transformed into his T-Rex mode giving out a roar before charging towards the seekers.
"Oh boy." Sideswipe said to Bumblebee as he saw Grimlock transform. "The Decepticons are in for a beating when Grimlock gets his hands on them." He couldn't help but feel slightly sorry for them, in the end. Grimlock is one tough Autobot, and he does not play around. "Actually," He continued, "Maybe we should calm him down before he brings down the cave." "Grimlock!" Sideswipe called, "Calm down, we don't need any collateral damage."
