I hope the helmet just attaches over sabers head, I'd definitely prefer that over an arm hinge and better for cool photos too

this. this would be incredible attention to the story

i think that the head can turn 360, because theres a little white thing on top of the saber head, so the v star head might have its own hinge

I will watch his livestreams if I'm not busy on a Saturday night, those tend to be fun. His straight up topic videos, I could do without. I like his personality mostly when he's live. What I like more are the chats with other fans on the side compared with his discussion, but I'll occasionally even pay for a question I want everyone to think about. And his podcast does often have ex-Hasbro higher ups and comics writers and artists, so its cool to see and chat with insider-ish people.

I agree, total sales is not the number to be chasing. Total profit is. I'd be willing to bet Unicron cost waaaay more in research and development than Victory Saber will. Hard to say on the profit margin in just materials; I'd personally think Unicron had a much higher cost per unit to make - but, they also charged ALOT for him. I'd still say he probably profited more than VS will, but not by the amount sales would have you believe. I'll bet it made like 130% of what VS will, not the 200% it looks like in just sales.

Nostalgia of how the RM does it and how the anime has it, but I'll get over it.

I never had an issue with parts forming. It’s not a big deal to me IMO.

I would really like to see Haslab step up their output. Maybe something like Mattel Creations would work. For example, I have dreamed for years of a return to the G1 Pretender concept with a reissue of Pretender Starscream in a recolored shell and repaints as Pretenders Tnundercracker and Skywarp. I think such experiments would be good sellers, and they could utilize pre-existing toolings. G1 Prime in SG colors, Earthrise Prime in the MP-10G deco, etc. would all sell well. There is so much more they can offer. Why limit things to one crowdfund every two years?

So you want them to use HasLab to reissue G1 figures in different decos? That is not what HasLab is for.

Crowdfunds for new G1 Pretender mold repaints?

Huh. I'd commission a customizer to buy a vintage figure and paint it. That would be pretty easy to accomplish!

Eh... For Skullgrin, I'd prefer a new body with proportions that better match his comic appearance. He was kinda dumpy and I did not care for the additional goat horns along with the ram horns.

“Mattel Creations?” Is that Mattel’s own version of Haslab?

Not really an issue with parts forming, just like the idea of the V-star being one big thing, like the battle-up parts were all there, didn't have to pop one thing off or whatever.

Also serves as an online store for more exclusive releases, and served as the vendor for SDCC exclusives. I was one of the few and the proud to get the SDCC MOTU Revalations Scareglow from there.

It doesn’t function exactly the same way, but sort of.

I didn’t mean for the Pretender idea to be the focus of my comment. It was merely an example. My point is they could be doing so much more with the crowdfunding concept. They should be running one of these every two months. It could be totally random. Obscure G1 reissues/repaints, Botcon style box sets, etc. Transformers crowdfunds shouldn’t be two years apart.

I think one big difference is that HasLab is producing stuff that is not market viable but is still essentially the same toy quality as the rest of their output, while Mattel Creations often does produce super limited run collector's pieces alongside the exclusive toys they release.

Hell to the yes! More Botcon style junk I loved it! (Or at least the concept of it since I was never around to afford any of them.)

I think the issue with this is that then you run the risk of devaluing HasLabs due to customer fatigue. Hasbro produces toys/collectibles for more brands (which also happen to be more popular than competing companies). There are assuredly a lot of potential backers that are fans of multiple Hasbro owned and licensed properties. And many I’m sure would not love the idea of backing a new HasLab project every few months instead of maybe once or twice a year. This could easily lead to more failed HasLabs which isn’t likely a direction that anyone would want to take.

Personally, I don’t think I could back so many haslab projects if they run them a couple months apart. I’m fine with a 6 month to two year wait.

Sorry if this isn't exactly "news" I haven't been keeping up with the thread these last few days, but Pulse US updated their website to give the ETA for Victory Saber. I know the date itself has been known thanks to Pulse UK but thought y'all would like to know
