I found like 8 Siege Ratchets at my local Walgreens back in the day. Wish I'd bought more, didn't know he was gonna be rare.

Oh my god I forgot both Ratchets were exclusives. I was thinking earthrise lol. They really did Ratchet fans dirty with that one.

    I still can't believe it's being done.

All tiers reached, the visuals are perfect....

So now I'm searching how they will ruin the whole thing. What if they use their terrible pearl white plastic ?

I forgot that the ER one was rare too because I skipped 80% of Earthrise on account of all the Siege repeats. But yeah, back to the topic on hand, Victory Saber needs some ratchets to successfully stand on display long term.
I am personally hoping for white paint over white plastic. That way the white paint shouldn't yellow, and the white plastic underneath will keep it from showing chips too badly.

I don’t see them getting rid of any of the gaps. A new hapless design would cost more and we already payed for it so they aren’t going to take a loss on this. Ratchets already look like a definite in the legs at the very least since they are bent backwards with the Leo boots in the main promo pics.

As I said in the post, I understand it might be unreasonable so I don't expect that, it's just a hope.

I’m getting a set, and I have the robot masters figures. But I never understood the point of making victory Leo as stilts. Backpack with wings? Sure. That’s lots of robot toys. But platform shoes just make the rest of him look out of proportion.

Yeah, the platform shoes always seemed weird to me, but I just wrote it off as the "super robot" thing.
The RM version is a lot of fun, and it'll look great with this one on the shelf.

Wish I had thought of this sooner but I suppose better late than never!

So it's another case of the cartoon connecting 2 unrelated toys together like the aforementioned Unicron minions

I mean technically the Unicron guys were made for the movie before the toys, so they're a bit more connected in that case.

but then we get even more technical where they were originally revived ancient decepticons in the early drafts of the script and were only changed to be more modern decepticons reborn in later drafts closer to the film's production, but their designs were presumably at least close to finalized prior to said script change

Ratchets are likely on load bearing joints. Look at God Ginrai (TR/TL) and every Ultra Magnus in recent release.

Gap filling is unlikely. HasTak just cannot deliver a product in modern history outside of Masterpiece that doesn't have gaps. The major reason is cost saving. Because HasTak is hyper focused on revenue vs quality at this stage, it's unlikely that they'll fill non-MP gaps because it's a cost cutter (less plastic.) And even now, they've STILL raised pricing across the board to maintain growth to maintain investor confidence in the face of rising costs like shipping, production, and distribution. The days of early 2000 solid limbs are long gone. The gaps began as early as BW and they haven't stopped. If that's your desire, retire as a collector now. They're not going away barring a massive plunge in plastics prices or almost doubling the cost of the toy. And that last part will ruin them.

I can't recall a recent figure (US) with chrome, so I don't think you have to worry about that.

What's wrong with the sword? I don't expect any changes to it at the scale we're working with. Especially considering the execution of the MP sword.

Yup I couldn't agree more. That's my main gripe on his combining aspect, after combining Victory Leo just got lost in the mix. He's just folded into a sandwiched pair of gigantic flip flops lol.

The recent one by Flame toys managed to rectify this situation, once fully combined Victory Leo ends up becoming the lion chest head and Star Saber gets an additional parts on his head like a golden head crest thingy. It's truly an impressive and terrifying sight.

The only downside is this version doesn't transform at all.

I thought of them as stabilizers that allow Victory Saber to stand when using all that increased fire power. Giving two shoulder mounted canons and a BFG to a robot that mainly uses a sword would probably require it to need something to keep him falling on his ass while shooting.

The LGEX version was announced after I had already bought Super Ginrai and God Bomber. I wouldn't have said no to the extra Titan Masters, and the chrome certainly doesn't look bad (and is closer to the original toy).

But the silver paint on the original version is really nice, and I'm quite content. And anyway, that much chrome, it's a lot of fun for finger prints!

The Regular version does look better, but I have had little issues in Godbomber staying together and Ginrai can stand up on his own
