It was also an exclusive box set of 4 not sold at general retail.

I honestly hope the dont reissue any of the haslab projects as that is what makes them awesome is the exclusive nature of crowdfunding

We can't even get Earthrise 1984 characters like Ironhide and Prowl reissued. Haslab reissues are even far less likely.

If you snooze you lose. No more no less. That's why these HasLabs are exciting. You lose the excitement if you change it.

Backed on the first day and been mulling getting a second one (in theory to sell, but I'll never do it, it'll stay MISB or as a spare in case I break the first) ever since. And now I have.

I'm talking a new figure, not one already made.

The excitement is getting it made. I don't care beyond that. Hasbro has the numbers and will decide what that means for Saber, JG1, and pricepoints in the future.

The more people who can get if the merrier.

I'm totally with you on this. They could make a million copies of VS for all I care. The more people that can enjoy this set, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, the exclusivity isn’t what made me want to back this. It was getting two characters that wouldn’t otherwise be made and the chance to vote with my wallet for further Japanese G1 characters getting made in generations.

Even if they announced “okay, 20,000 of you bought this thing so clearly there is a market there. We’re gonna make another 10,000 afterwards and throw em up on Pulse”? Great, more people can get one if they missed out and decided they wanted one after the campaign ended. I’m all for it.

You don't care, but Hasbro will have a lot of trepidation at neutering future campaigns by re-releasing a HasLab exclusive. The cost to you or me of a re-release is both negligible and trivial, but the cost to the brand/product/process is high if people think they can wait out of a campaign and buy something later

I remember the issues when those that had the BotCon Seekers were upset that they were released in the mainline.

Having something special like an exclusive or a crowdfund become a bit obsolete and lose value due to a mainline release takes away some of the pride of owning the special figure(s). It may be a boon for some, but not everyone.

I understand that different people have different priorities when it comes to collecting. I don't have any particular need for something I own to be rare or limited. I'd rather more people be able to enjoy it with me.

Except it's very likely that Star Saber and Victory Leo don't actually fit into the Leader and Voyager price points. Part of what Haslab is all about is doing things that can't be done at retail and I'm willing to bet they're better engineered than the figures at those retail price points.

That'd work for sure. It'd be mean, but it would definitely work and it's be pretty fair

I feel like victory leo should get out somehow do. How about it came in a two pack with a random repaint, so if you want it, you'll be paying for an extra figure. Maybe a ginrai repaint of magnus, so if you want victory leo, you have to pay for a lame repaint, that's slightly relevant to him?

But then people who backed would be pissed, because they paid 180

Well either way, I'm sure they'll get him out, just wondering how. Maybe slight paint differences?

Although I don't think they'll ever reissue any Haslab project for obvious reasons, caring about "special value" and "pride" is absolutely a childish way to go about being upset over something like this. If a person owns a thing that later becomes available in some other way, it has absolutely zero effect on that original person. Collecting things on the premise that owning it elevates you over other people who don't is absolutely childish.

nah, if people want Victory Saber they still have almost 36 hours. Hasbro is pretty clear in all the marketing for Haslab stuff, while they reserve the right to rerelease items later on, their intent is not to. Therefore anyone that passes on the Haslab with the expectation of a later rerelease is setting themselves up for disappointment (especially if they think it'll be cheaper), intentionally. If they want this figure they should just back this figure while it's guaranteed to be available rather than hoping for some sort of neutered or non neutered rerelease.

I don't think theyll reissue it any time soon but I imagine it wouldn't be wholly unreasonable to do so maybe 5 or 6 years after the initial release. Give enough time between them so as to not diminish the "exclusivity" of the original and maybe make it a limited run thing
