Ah yes the scale wars, one of the strangest and funniest arguments I seen since I joined this site haha.

I think people care too much about scale. For me there’s a rough scale like bumblebee should be a certain size compared to Optimus, and the dinobots should be roughly leader sizeish. But people like Orangeitis who care so much about scale, I just don’t get. I guess we each got our thing but it seems so tedious to me.

One of the arguements about scale was how tall ss86 slag was to Grimlock it was pretty wacky....

But what’s even more wacky was someone trying to argue that Scorponok’s bee could transform by moving its wings. Total bonkers.

DaEF? o_O Is that for real? :banghead:

Talk about being too privileged!

The only reason VS and Unicron among others gets to be pressed is under the human desire to profit from a hard earned endeavor. I didn't even touch (not enough cash) Unicron and never complained about it.

VS, I took a different supplier route for the shipping costs and regional tax. Not ranting against Hb as I am their humble plastic crack addict already:lolol

It was a glorious dumpster fire, and I only regret not being able to get screenshots of the madness.

To each his own but back then during OG 84 G1, scale was like all over the place. :drunk Shockwave taller the Megs, the dinobots being deluxes and the combiners etc etc.

I shudder to think if Hb blindly follows such fan demands and we get a two story tall Unicron.

That’s why scale accuracy is laughable if we are going by Sunbow standards. Even the show wasn’t consistent with scale.

I prefer TR Blaster because he's more "toy scale" and I can recreate this scene:

I feel like there's a nice middle ground that can be found; like, I care a decent bit about scale, but I also like to think I'm not too anal about it. I'm interested to a degree at least somewhat beyond just "rough scaling", but also feel like often we should kinda go with the flow to some extent, things can be malleable; Star Saber being a great example, especially because JG1 scale makes even less sense than G1 proper, so I'm fine as long as he's Big to any extent, and Saber is somewhere in the "normal Transformer" size range, which this figure fulfilled readily.

Frankly, the only recent scaling decision I actually feel annoyed about was making Galvatron taller than Cyclonus, cuz I've always liked that dynamic of Galvatron being in the middle size-wise, while Scourge and Cyclonus are shorter and taller than him, respectively.

There was an old Simpson episode( when they used to be funny) when Homer's halfbro Elon Musk type who went bankrupt after following all the cockamamie ideas in the design stage of the concept car........

Aka, I'm thankful the figure even/just gets made for Primus' sake!

I do appreciate the scaling done to most of the WFC figures. It makes them feel more authentic when they do have proper scaling. I just don’t think it’s wise to be upset if it’s not 100 percent accurate. I can settle for close enough l.

Same here. Roughly in scale is enough for me. I'm a huge Combiner fan, so I can accept that alt mode is going to be all kinds of messed up.

Cartoon accuracy on a final TF product is an oxymoron (just ask MP Arcee :lol  )

    Don't give them ideas :drunk

That scene during Cream's coronation, either its the perspective or the angle but yup, Cyclonus was taller than Galvatron. Here we go again with 'toon accuracy..........:lolol

Yup. To such an extent the toyline swung towards it and redefined "size class" to be "price points" where Deluxes are as short as Bee or as tall as Ironhide.

I guess, on the upside, they've put more effort in to engineering in situations like that, but that just meant the "scale" complaints started to give way to "OMG hollow!" on the taller figures in the various price points.

Oh, and since they started trying to make characters scale with each other, it just created an uncanny valley situation where the ones that were off REALLY stood out, so the more adamant scale fans were still unhappy.
