Hmm… that’s true. I find myself, because pulse is CAN/US/UK, thinking of Victory Saber in the eyes of a western audience. But yeah it’d be sick if on the 9th there’s like an extra 15 000 added from the east. Still excited to see the final backer number though. It’ll be fun to see how this plays out now that we know that it’s 100% funded.

The biggest question I have now is:

“Stop at 1? Or double down?”

It’s a very tempting thought to imagine having a giant victory saber in the background of the display shelf with starsaber and leo convoy in front, one on each side of him. Is that a reasonable idea or is that just my blood itchin while I’m thinkin bout all this plastic crack?

My guess is it will make tier 1 and 2, but not tier 3. I can live without the shield, but I hope I'm wrong.

 

Way back when MP Star Saber was being shown, there was some no-name on the boards who would take any chance they could to very loudly proclaim that Star Saber was indeed not a "real transformer" because he "looked like a gunDUMB!" (yes, they actually used that spelling for gundam). They also went on about how SS's inclusion "will kill the MP line forever!" So it can be said that the opinion was present, but it was a minority opinion even then and has only become even more of an unpopular opinion with time.

 

This is exactly what I am thinking. It will certainly make the first tier.

 

Star Saber does look like a Gundam, but Transformers can look like basically anything, so it's allowed.

 

Had it been the shield alone I'd agree, but since it has Holi and Fire, the former being a massive request, I'd bet that pushes it to 20. I'd wager a 22k final tally

 

Lets run completely theoretical numbers. As of now, we sit at 12700ish. Unicron likely added at least 6000 foreign backers in the last week of the campaign. Given the price and popularity overseas of Star Saber I would expect at least that much. That conservatively brings us close to 19k. Most of the Haslab campaigns have also had a late "local" surge. Im not sure where this is ending up, but unless Haslab substantially changed their methodology for adding affiliate and TT orders, I have no reason to believe this won't make 20000 or close to it, at which point Im pretty sure there will be enough of a surge to push to 20k.

Exactly! Even if Star Saber is similar to a gundam physically (I don’t think so personally), but what qualifies how a transformer actually looks? G1ish designs? The transformers always had different style across its lifetime. It’s absurd to call star saber a non transformer because he looks like a gundam.

 

A Transformer, Star Saber, gets called a Gundam.

The large Gundam at Yokohama gets called a Transformer.

Perhaps they are one and the same.

Think of it this way, if everyone who backed now bought a second, we'd be way over the 20,000 mark. You'd just help it get there faster

In the cartoon, is Leo and and saber the same height? Or is Leo shorter and accurately represented in this haslab version

 

They're roughly the same height in the toon, victory Leo was made shorter for this release for stability reasons in combined mode
