I dunno, would have felt cheated if the sword blade was NOT chrome. And I see no other chrome anywhere. The chest seems to be just gold stickers or tampographs.
And frankly, modern chrome barely chips at all. All the Henkei toys I have still have all their chrome.

 

They're probably clipped on, right where the antennae meets the "earpiece".

 

Wow, one of the rare cases where the painted prototype actually looks better than the renders! Like, way better. This is awesome news.

They said it during the initial stream yes

They did not demonstrate it however, as the original prototype was only with the toy accurate perpedicular orientation. They merely said they were working on the dual purpose prototype and the later prototype photoshoot showed the new hilt but not the new orientation (you could see the wider mount and the gaps for the + shaped hole)

That's been known about since the turnaround was unveiled. It's also on the picture right on the home page of Pulse
