Not really. There was a roughly 150 backer bump with the unveiling of the flight stand but the 1300 order addition came out of nowhere. It was speculated that this was from the affiliate TFSource as just prior, they had “sold out” of their pre-orders.
Please don’t just throw false information around so carelessly. This is how apparently it’s now canon that TTM is only ordering 1k units to sell, even though we have absolutely no basis or evidence for it.

You'll obviously have the numbers but it at least seems like in the few days since revealing the stand the backing rate has gone up pretty steadily compared to before hand.

I'm not going to claim the stand specifically did it. But those pics of the figure on the stand looked absolutely fantastic. Besides the weekend they revealed the new prototype shots, it was the first time we really had "flashy" images of this thing as a display piece in BOTH modes.

Which I think is contributing to the current rise in backers. This is starting to look and feel very real to people who up until now were on the fence. Not to mention the closer we get to 11k the more we'll pick up momentum from a combination of the speculator market and people who now that it's *certainly* getting made will want one.

Mostly hobby stores have their pre-orders out. I got mine from Hobby Korner.

Maybe the third stretch goal unlock should be a tin foil hat that Victory Saber to wear that matches the ones most people in this thread must be wearing due to the amount of conspiracy theories going around

Here's my conspiracy theory. All the conspiracy theories are nothing more than conspiracy theories to antagonize people into thinking it's a conspiracy theory is just that, a conspiracy theory.

I haven't followed other Haslab projects. Will Hasbro post up a detailed video before the end date? I'm still on the fence on Star Saber. I don't really have a connection to the figure, but the design looks really interesting.

What if C-A-T really spelled dog?

Good to know! I've never followed a HasLab campaign before so I had no way of knowing.

Hopefully Transformers gets to join that club soon!

A mix. It's WFC style, but it doesn't really fit under a certain price class so they can pack in as much as they want and have any budget they want. But I figure for ease of wallets, they chose max $200

I've been tracking the order count every 24 hours and I was extremely certain the 1,451 lined up with some kind of reveal. I now realize there wasn't a backer goal revealed on 09-09, but I'm 90% certain pictures of the physical prototype model were revealed around that time. These ones:

Edit: these pictures were first revealed on September 2nd. Maybe you are correct but I remember at the time something happened with VS for that bump to happen

I'm sure we'll see a transformation video at some point once the deadline gets closer. The initial reveal used a set of very fragile rapid prototypes so they weren't an option at the time.

I can't tell you how friggin' much I love that functional Brainmaster gimmick with head rotation.

Honestly, Saber is underappreciated in this set. He looks so good. The hollow arms are easily outweighed by the Brainmaster being the actual face and proper hips, which even the MP couldn't pull off.

I honestly prefer the sliding up gimmick just like the g1 toys and animation. Here he just plops in face an all

Ditto. The elevator action was what made that gimmick awesome. Otherwise, they should just be Headmasters.

The stand announcement has given an added boost it seems. In the days leading up to it, the campaign was lucky to be pulling 75 new daily backers but since then it’s been averaging about 125.
I think you are right. It’s possible as well that the tier reveal convinced some fence sitters that Haslab had the internal numbers to make the project a reality—or at least were close enough that the 2nd tier was a distinct possibility.
Also, as you point out, the photos of the actual model can be a great boon. They are so much better looking than the digital renders. You can see all the detailing and design work that makes the figure feel more like it’s $180 price.

Unfortunately you are incorrect. The 1300 backer dump occurred on September 9, as you said, and nothing significant occurred around that time to produce such a jump. If you recall it was first speculated that they were numbers garnered from the display at Boston Fan Expo, but that was soon discounted as it made no sense.

On the contrary, it appears this design allowed Hasbro to produce a sturdier head/neck joint than we'd have gotten with either a traditional Headmaster or the original Brainmaster.

It also seems to allow for a more streamlined Brain of Courage.

You couldn't get much sturdier than a face-panel sliding up into a stationary head so I'm not certain what you're arguing there.

It allows for the head to swivel around and such. But so do modern Titanmasters.

The loss isn't so much in what you gain for modern action figures. The loss is in the gimmick itself and losing when you close up the chest and the face reveals as if the Brainmaster is elevating into the head. It's too bad Hasbro couldn't figure out a way to have the cake and eat it too.

Man I am still undecided on him. Some color pictures would probably help a lot.

The MP had a sliding gimmick and still had just as much articulation as haslab
