I think the better question is, why ISN'T your toy on a can of spam?! I know all mine are!
Because spam is delicious, dammit!
Tried, but I keep getting hungry.
Especially the jalapeno limited edition flavor!
My wife calls it the most white boy music she's heard.
Something that'll get me pilloried by some Italian Nona, but I've found that a bit of Spam makes for an amazing base for a carbonara. Ain't nobody without a local high-end butcher shop nearby getting the authentic guanciale for the dish, and I find the commonly-used substitute of bacon is actually far too overpowering in taste and texture.
Try the bacon flavored spam.
Maybe for something else. But my recommendation in this case was to actually move away from the heavily smoked flavour.
Also, just to be clear, I'm talking about the otherwise faithful version of the dish. Just the salt meat and its fat (Spam doesn't render out enough fat, so I throw in just a tiny bit of butter), your pasta plus a bit of the starchy-salted pasta water, and a raw egg, and then finished with your grated parmesan. Also a blasphemy for the Italian purist, but I'll often fry up some mushrooms with the spam to give the dish a nice earthy note and a touch of sweetness to offset the salt.
If you do the American version, with cream and maybe garlic and herb (and I've seen frozen peas as well), that probably mellows out the bacon a bit.
By the thirteen Prime's my sanity is returning. That block button is magic I tell ya, @Oniconvoy was right.
Then I return after eating dinner and realize I had the wrong thing to eat... *Sniffles* You guys are mean!!
Ah yes, being part of a fandom really is like its own circle of hell, isn't it?
The torment begins with "constantly second-guessing all of your life choices, no matter how innocuous". Muahahaha!
no it does make perfect sense , cause this thing is going to get made , its already has been decided , it was probably decided long ago too . you honestly don't think its not going to get made do you ? its just foolish if you don't think its not going to get made at this point. takara will just order an amount they think they can sell and place the order after the official crowd sourcing thing has finished. the only other explanation is that they just wont sell it in japan and that's not likely going to happen, its possible i guess but not likely . takara is not going to open a crowd sourcing thing for two weeks , its going to be a regular ex item in japan
this is what im saying and this is what is going to happen
Now I got to raid the fridge when I get home from work.
Yeah, that's not how this works at all. If they need their 11000 units sold to make acceptable profits, then they're not going to make this with only 8000 units guaranteed, leaving them to hold on to 3000 spare units until those are sold.
That's the purpose of this whole exploratory venture. While they've spent a certain amount already on R&D, it pales in comparison to the year-long factory prep work that follows.
Your way of thinking is falling victim to the "sunk-cost fallacy", which is something that profitable businesses learn to absolutely avoid.
Don't do the whole pot of boiled water for pasta. Just throw however much pasta you want in a frying pan, with just enough water to cover, plus a large pinch of salt, then put it on the heat. Cook until al-dente, and pour off the water, but leave enough that it still pools around and coats the noodles.
While the pasta is cooking, dice your Spam into small cubes (for a single heaping plateful of pasta for one, a quarter of the can is enough), and then fry in a separate pan, adding about tsp of butter at the end just to melt it. Maybe more like a tbsp if you want to throw onions or mushrooms or whatever other non-traditional add-ins.
Once the pasta is done and drained, throw your add-ins into the noodles and cut the heat. Pile everything high, and then drop a raw egg directly on the pile, hopefully nothing hitting the pan. Stir the whole thing vigorously now, so that the egg breaks and coats everything. The egg should mix with the remaining starch water and fat and turn into a creamy sauce, coating the noodles, and cook solely through the residual heat from the pasta. If the pan were still heated, then your egg will fry/scramble instead. Still edible, but you won't get that nice "cream" sauce effect.
Finish with grated parmeson, or your grated dry cheese of choice. Maybe parsley for colour. Serve immediately. Enjoy.
Such an easy and quick dish to make. I can have a large serving done in ~5 minutes, barely longer than it takes the pasta to cook.
I kind of doubt it. They’ve sold Star Saber multiple times in Japan at retail. They probably have a good idea how well he would sell over there in comparison to other Transformers.
Ah shit, what's wrong with Mirage? I still have mine on pre order.
Symbol doesn't line up on the hood. The autobot symbol looks like Two face.
Just 2 quibbles with mine.
1st, the autobot logo in vehicle mode is misaligned. It's an annoyance and I'll probably get around to just removing it eventually
2nd, the piece that his bot mode head sits on is loose when rotating between bot and car mode. It's perfectly stable in either mode but when transforming one side likes to try and pop out.
Neither are things that ruin the figure in my opinion
Given how collectible pre-orders tend to get snapped up in their first day of listing, it's possible that TakaraTomy isn't banking on a long time to get this done. Japanese collectors will not balk at paying for items twice the cost of Victory Saber.
It might be that they're waiting for the coloured samples or such, to make it a big splashy announcement, and then off to the races immediately.
Man it’s crazy that TT still isn’t offering this in Japan. Maybe they’re anticipating it’ll get backed and will release it to Japanese audiences as a TT Mall exclusives later?
Wow the puns are really starting to take flight.
