Actually with Galactus a lot of Marvel fans didn't care for all the stretch goals, with many complaining that Silver Surfer should have just been included at the get-go or outright replaced with a different Herald that like Nova would have trouble finding a place at retail. Others I saw also complained about the "Doom" head since no one really wanted that and would have been happy with literally anything else.

I guess grass is always greener.

Because Hasbro isn't trying to raise money. They have money, lots of it in fact. What they want are straight up orders and a guaranteed commitment from so many buyers before they go into production.

I actually did during Walmart.com's last restock. Wasn't too difficult but still more tedious than one would like. Thing about that is it's not really the "bots" you're fighting anymore, Walmart has a ton of Captcha type things preventing that now. It's instead literally everyone else legitimately still trying to get one.

Of course some scalpers are still taking advantage of that I'm sure, but that will eventually go away (some are already reporting the resellers are losing out on some money). With Unicron and the other Haslabs, though, that's not scalping it's just playing the long game. They're out of print, and despite selling for some outrageous prices on the secondary market it's really no different than selling say a vintage Transformer from the 80s at a price now that's way above the original MSRP.

Well first of all I don't think the different brands can up and share parts so easily for a variety of logistical reasons, but second of all even a "young teen" body like Miles is still widely out of scale and too big to go with Victory Saber.

I'm only backing this for the stand. My last name starts with a 'V'.

While I really DONT expect the last tier to be a dx figure (POSSIBLY redecoed Micromasters...) I don't know that we can really compare anything to the cost of a Marvel Legend...sure they re-use tooling often enough to make even MOTU say "damn!" there is the x-factor of licensing costs to be paid to Marvel / Disney. I don't know anyone privvy to if they have a blanket use fee or if it's by individual characters...it may impact the bottom line of any given character, especially if it's a pre-order incentive that makes $0 above and beyond the main figure price.

Except they're not implying that it can't free stand at all, unintentionally or not, considering every other image of Victory Saber standing has been without a stand

    A stand? Shouldn't be a tier.

Boy, you sure get a lot of people still in here raising Cain despite saying they have no interest in this or how it's clearly just a rip off or Hasbro has no faith in it, yadda yadda...

Anything they want to include with this, but would force them to jack up the price at the base level is going to be on a tier.

I'm a little confused with the MP comparison.

The MP was only Star Saber. NOT Victory Saber.

With this HasLab, we get both Star Saber and Victory Leo with the combining ability. Under $200, when MP Star Saber alone went for that price?

My opinion, I'm pretty happy with this release. I don't collect MPs, and even if I did, I would still want this.

Complaints about freebies seem a tad juvenile. Isn't the intent to back the advertised figure, not the unrevealed stretch-goal?

So anyway... pretty hyped about Star Saber. Still mulling over buying that second one.

I do hope the success of this leads to more characters getting made, especially obscure or never-had-toys characters.

YEAH. The MP Figure didn't even have a true "Brainmaster" gimmick. It had the faceplate which popped up, but the Brainmaster might as well have not been there.
This HasLab has Star Saber, Victory Leo, the Flightstand, the V-Lock Cannon, the Blast Effects, and everything else for under $200. That is a STEAL, especially comparing it to, say, the Masterpiece Figure which had no Victory Saber Combination Potential for the same price.
Seriously, there are only 7918 Backers. This doesn't even reach the 11000 Backer Minimum. How do we expect to reach the 20000 Backer Third Tier with this rate of backing?
Another thing is that people are basically wanting a complete Transformers Victory Set. That's expecting way too much from a free accessory added to an under $200 Set.

It looks good, but a stand for a stretch goal?

And is the last goal or is there going to be a third?

The flight stand was all I really wanted from the stretch goals. They even gave it a bit of character with the V and autobot symbol which I thought they might not do given how plain Unicron's stand is. Everything else from here on is just cake for me (assuming the stretch goal ends up getting reached of course). Continuing to be pleased with this guy.

Exactly! I’m fairly happy there’ll be a stand included, it’s just a lame “tier bonus” because it seems completely unlikely to make anyone more inclined to purchase. New figures aren’t realistic obviously (unless it was some kind of Micromasters/Core/Legends repaint) but anyt of the type of stuff you suggested feels like “added value” (and those type of swag items are hella cheap to produce at scale)
