Considering TakaraTomy owns the Franchise in Japan Only, not Hasbro - never underestimate the thinking of that company. Especially where it is based upon their own original works & Hasbro had to license it for production. It all depends on what the market in Japan wants. Sometimes there is a love for one version of a thing so very strong they refuse to accept it any other way. We will only know for certain when something does open up there or not for preordering/backing. Sacred cows sometimes receive protection from their core fan bases. Victory Saber could be viewed potentially as one of those sacred cows in Japan.

Doesn't matter to me either way I've backed all I intend to with my group ^^ adjusted number now 92 units.

A lot of it has to do with risk factor. People don’t generally like the idea of committing to something that there is no guarantee for, so when the possibility of production has already been achieved, it makes it a lot people to commit since there are a lot more certainties.

There is literally no risk in backing sooner.

Again that makes no sense, there’s absolutely no risk in backing sooner because you are only charged if it’s fulfilled. Also going by your logic they should want to commit to help guarantee it’s success.

I agree with you 100% but still think transgeek2345 has a 100% valid point. Logic doesn't always factor in here, some folks just won't get excited about something until there's no chance of being disappointed.....even if they have some small influence on the outcome. Hell there's people who won't do it because Hasbro is a big company and make that hilariously absurd "corporate welfare" argument. Common sense isn't common.

There is an aura of elitism the comes off those posts that say people who wait to back make no sense, but I'll continue to wait just to confound those who care so much about what I do. Just call it whatever you want to suit your taste.

..do you know what elitism is? Being confused about when someone backs something that won't take appreciable effect until a month from now is not elitism. Them waiting makes that benchmark they're waiting for even further away and that impacts everyone involved with the campaign.

That's not to say waiting is nonsensical in general. I get holding off until you can be sure you have the funds for it but waiting for X backers when you could be one of said backers is just counterintuitive

I don't quite follow what you're getting at with this, but the usual Takara designers are already working on this figure. There will be no other better "sacred cow" Star Saber coming later, this is the only Star Saber we're going to get.

Pretty much why I have to wait till late September, but likely wont pull the trigger till October. I don't have the luxury of dropping a big $180 when I desire, let alone trying to budget. People have their reasons. Thread just feels hostile to people who haven't backed yet.

I mean regardless of when you back everyone gets charged on October 11.

Question: are you waiting because you do not know if you will be able to afford it? If so, that's a perfectly fine reason. What I hope you are aware of (which seems to be one of the top 3 "reasons for hostility" around here) is that you are not charged UNTIL October 11th. Thus it doesn't matter financially if you back on day 1 or day 44. And in the event this isn't funded, you aren't charged at all!

Read they do a hold that comes off, but right now I'm below that amount till later this month, so I'll be able to then. Its budgeting for me right now as I'm having to move stuff around and cancel some stuff to go for this one.

The only "hostility" I've noticed is towards those holding their backing off for milestones and numbers of backers. Most level heads understand uncertain budgets and wanting to be sure you can secure the 180 before the 11th. Not everyone, unfortunately, but most

Perfectly understandable dude. I know this is the thread of praise for VS (and I've been a LOUD voice for him getting a toy for a long time) but taking a step back for a second, this is just a toy. You and others in the same boat who are checking their budgets carefully are doing the right thing. Make sure you have the essentials covered first. This is a luxury item, not something like food or rent or utilities you need to survive.

You maybe didn’t read what I said, I said people who are waiting to back it until it hits goal make no sense, not people waiting because they don’t have the money. I never said anything about money reasons. That never came up once so I think you’re feeling attacked which no ones attacking people who don’t have the money we only talked about the ones who are waiting til it’s backed to back it which is counterproductive. They didn’t do a hold on my card when I backed it so I’m not personally aware of that. My thoughts never concerned money. 180 for a toy is a lot so I’m not getting into peoples finances on the internet lol

I am sorry you feel the way you do. Let's try taking this from a different stand point. So you can see where those of us, who have backed, it and are happy.
Product X is a anouced and you may or may not know alot about it but it's something new and you are excited for it.
You come into a board and want to talk about it and maybe learn more. You find people who are also happy and have questions and theories and you start having a discussion.
Then grp B comes in, they have no intention of being part of the talk because reasons and only complain about the price, because if they can't afford it the no one should own it. Shortly after grp C marches in and sees that price isn't working to make people angry so they attack the shape of product X.
Grp D waits then comes forward when that doesn't work and starts a misinformation campaign about past things that never happened or hearsay.
So if you can put yourself in our shoes, and can be excited to talk about what this project could mean for the fandom and what might come next and see maybe we are tired of so much negative hate thrown because people are mad about something and taking it out on people who have nothing to do with why they are mad, it's not hostility, it's us saying simply, you can play in the sandbox but the second you start throwing sand we are done.

Understandable with how worn the discussion can be then, I just haven't kept up with it so I have no idea. I mostly check here for any news or new pics while managing my hype for this one. Tbf I'm a sucker for this toy's style of play so I have to hold back or obsess over wanting more pics to gaze at.

I am hopeful we'll get a FFF this week showing off the color scheme. The 17th will be about 1/2way though the campaign...
