Possibly kept for replacement parts but more likely to be shredded I would think.

I couldn't say "you are wrong," but it's not the only (or, IMHO, even the most likely) scenario, which (again, strictly IMHO) is that Hasbro's waiting until all of the orders are shipped out and accounted for, before starting to look at what stock they have left with which to respond to full-figure complaints.

That said, it's been noted in the past that Hasbro gives themselves the right to do another production run. While I don't think it's likely, it's definitely possible, and this kind of scenario is perhaps the best reason to do such a run (not for separate sale, but simply to address concerns) I could imagine.

That’s certainly possible. What’s interesting to me is that my copy of one of those where the hole wasn’t molded to allow the cockpit to attach. It’s nothing that requires an entire figure replacement, unless they’re already out of replacement parts.

At this point are most people thinking it makes sense to do the exchange?

Yeah, might as well sign up now. When they get back to us in 3-6 months you could always just say you changed your mind if it’s no longer worth the effort for you at that point.

I can't imagine they're out of replacement parts. Indeed, for most purposes, it would be FAR more cost-effective for Hasbro to cannibalize the "extra" figures they have to send out such parts rather than send full figures. The best I can do is guess, and admit that I'm not the one at Hasbro making these decisions.

I don't know how we'd assess "most" given our less-than-representative sampling, but I'm not seeing any reason to do so with mine.

    Several:
    1. Report it to Hasbro and get a replacement
    2. Buy gold foil tape on Amazon
    3. Buy gold heat foil

    Honestly, nothing new.

It's annoying when it's on an $180 limited item, but there's no "quality" issues to blame here. That's just mass-market factory conditions for you, that have been around for forever. Surface needs proper handling and treatment after its been coated, but the fast pace of the factory floor means that there are never perfect safeguards. The game is mitigation, not elimination.

HIGHLY doubt this is an indication of a second run. I was given the same options for a missing figure with Jabba's Sail Barge - the several months part, that is - and there's been zero indication a second run was ever done with that. I'd say they're just giving themselves enough time to get it all sorted out, and Blackrock's guess is what's happening.

While I do not know if there would be a second production run, but I understood from some local retailers that they are expecting a restock. At least 1 of them have already gotten a restock; I do not know whether the restock is part of the initial run, but the Taiwan flood really hit our allocation bad.

I can't see Hasbro destroying that much merchandise. Maybe they will sell them as defective salvage merchandise and you'll see them at your local returned merchandise bargain store.

Unless there's something more fundamentally wrong with your copy (mismatched arms or panels, missing pieces, the slot on Saber's cockpit not being cut out, not being able to fit the sword blade into the hilt in both configurations, etc.) that affects actual transformation or poseability, what are the chances Hasbro is going to give you a replacement if the only issue is crappy chrome application? That's probably the lowest down on the QC issues line.

I'm not saying that Victory Saber's QC issues aren't a factor in the share price drop, but I'm more likely to think that a bigger factor was the shitshow that was the Magic the Gathering 30th Anniversary packs.

Do we have any evidence that the Taiwanese shipment that was damaged was ear-marked *strictly* for Taiwan-based buyers or is it possible that some of Europe's allotment was included in that shipment as well?

The wrecked Taiwan shipment was probably almost certainly shredded, even if there are figures that were otherwise in good condition. I presume that due to the water damage from seawater (?), there might be some health and safety issues with that stuff and so the figures were probably all destroyed out of an abundance of caution and to comply with such standards. Not sure if any returned copies are subject to the same health and safety measures, but you can't tell where something that was returned to you has been between you initially shipping it out and it coming back to you.

That aside, who owns these stores and how do I get in touch with them? Lol.

Well got the email from hasbro on my victory saber set!! They gave me 2 options full refund or a full replacement!! Only issue mine has is the hole on saber!! I don't have to send mine back until they confirm my replacement which is good I guess!! A refund is not an option lol I wish hasbro would just send the part versus a whole set!!
