Looks sooo good. No regrets pre-ordering GT-R Prime now.

That teaser of GT-R Saber in the top corner of the last pic is tempting me to pull the trigger on it too. Looks like the sword's hilt and GT-R Saber's feet will be red to help break up all that blue. So, all blue body with red helmet, feet and weapon.

In my mind, it doesn't seem red enough to really evoke the classic Star Saber scheme. So badly want to see how it actually looks so I can decide whether to dive in or not.

You know, I completely understand reusing molds to maximize the profit from them, but this is the problem I had with alternity....lets make the same character 4 times in different colors, and then repaint again and call it a new character. I couldn't get into alternity with only 4 total molds and what, 16 individual items?

These are beautiful, but there needs to be some uniqueness if they're going to keep it going.

 

This is probably one of the best looking mold that tak/tomy has made. Probably why they are trying to milk the crap out of it. Not to mention the gtr is the fastest production car to come out of japan and dominate the auto world.

 

they should have made a Smokescreen out of it

GT-02 GT-R Saber pics!

 

My first impression of Saber's bot mode isn't a good one.

Looks like TakaraTomy tried really hard to shoehorn Star Saber's classic color scheme into the all blue Calsonic/Impul GT-R. It's looking pretty cheap compared to Prime who's scheme looks a lot classier.

 

I think all of us are trying ways & means to have a good look at Star Sabre's head but to no avail,haha

 

Between the box art, resin prototype close up and the bit that can be seen in these latest pics, we've got a pretty good idea what the head looks like.

That said, it wouldn't hurt to have a nice clear look at the finished product's head.

 

You are right on,now wondering how the boxart will look like,don't think wil be the same as the usual Alternity boxes.

 

Toy Hobby Market's product order pages indicate the packaging size.

The box seems awfully large.

 

In the past, all Transformers that had a little PVC figure (Binaltech Astericks and Kissplay) had the toy in robot mode with the little character, making for a HUGE box....... but since it's race queens, maybe we are going to have some fancy box of them in car mode with the race queen infront of them....... who knows. All I know is I am hyped.

 

I swear GT-R Prime's head reminds me of RID Rail Racer's head.

Cool that TakaraTomy is able to promote the line at a event like that.

I dunno, but for me Saber looks decent enough to be a proper homage to Star Saber's bot mode. Will get him eventually.  

 

You've seen one Optimus, you've seen a million of them. SO boring. Easy pass. Star Saber isn't 100% perfect but at least its got a new head thats unique. I'll get it eventually I'm sure.
