I think it's annoying that we haven't had any true updates of classic combiners, so every time some new combiner comes out, it's a little bothersome. It doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy what's new (as long as it looks cool) but, like I said, it's annoying that they can't give us a proper combiner.

Maybe at some point we'll get a perfect masterpiece devastator, have the robot modes be the height of the autobot cars release them as two packs, and stagger the releases.

Combiners with three different configurations? This sounds absolutely kick ass! The lights and sounds sorta worry me though if they are all small robots. If they are HUGE like RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, they could pull it off and be completely awesome.

Hopefully I don't have to import these dudes and Hasbro releases them over here. :D

OH YEAH! I'd love to have that. Provided that we actually get that series dubbed in the future.

Seriously if this is an anime series we'll get i hope Koichi Yamadara voices someone in it.

Given that one member is is a police car and Prowl is sort of in the TFP universe, what if this is a silly homage to Magnaboss? That would be ridiculous and great.

I agree that it'd be cool to have combiner updates. I was just pissed that he was speaking as if he was the mouthpiece of the entire forum. I am JUST as excited for new combiner themes.

Prowl isn't a component of Magnaboss in the Japanese Beast Wars series.

Yeah, that was the American version of Getter Robo G, which I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'd LOVE to see them use design cues from that.

No, but it wouldn't be the first time Takara has homaged an American concept.

Plus, all these figures are joint designed by Hasbro and Takara.

No, no. So many many TF toys(MP, Alternity, and more!) are desigined/made/created by Takaratomy, NOT Hasbro.

I'm not too sure about that.

I mean yeah there's stuff only Takara does, but there's stuff only Hasbro does, too. And most of Transformers is a pretty even split.

And even so, saying Prowl wasn't a part of Magnaboss in Japan still doesn't mean this couldn't be an homage. And even if it isn't, the Hasbro version (if there is one) could be.

Given that the Legion figure is a repaint of Smokescreen, it's a pretty safe bet that the Deluxe figure will follow suit (Hopefully with a new head based on the TF: Universe MMO). Although, it would explain why Hasbro elected to give us Kup out of Ironhide's intended design.

I assume its supposed to be a mock-up using the optimus' silouette as a place holder.

Though IF that is the way the configurations work, I'm worried about the articulation on these things. Thats 3 combining configurations they'll each have, plus robot and vehicle modes.

    Might be a mess.

well only info that i can gather from this is that each robot has 5 modes
    Rbt Mode
    Alt Mode
    Combiner head mode
    Combiner torso mode
    Combiner leg mode

This makes it sound very much like TF Energon series, how each deluxe figure has a combiner upper half or combiner lower half mode. I recall TF Energon and man their combined modes generally looked pretty lousy by today's standards.
