Anyhow, these do look better than the Samurai team. More ridiculous too, of course, but in a good way.

I might pick up the shark. Probably not all three. Although I look forward to seeing more detailed, up-close images to decide.

 

Really loving the anime style artwork. The toys themselves are ok but if the prices are fair I can see myself buying these 3 at least.

I wish there was more news to this, it's very interesting. I'm getting a RID/Brave vibe from this, a sort of anime trope-laden feel, that makes this more feel-good fun than what we've seen so far from TF.

Is this going to be a new show or something?

 

Looking at the image in detail (and recalling some previous artwork I'd seen) it does look like any part can be the upper/middle or legs part.

You can best tell this by the way the legs in robot mode continue past the point of the hips and actually attach at the shoulder. and that all 3 have some sort of foot plate part as leg kibble on the side of the robot mode.

Obviously the large lion head is more suited to being the torso centre and it may even be that they allow you to keep it there when the parts are swapped but I can see how the bird head would sit atop it ok still if in the upper placement.

The default configuration seems best suited and the bird seems best suited to being the wings. but I would suggest that as with the previous combiner the leader character or general placement may denote the mission role.

You have The following themes :

Land (assault) - Lion
Land ( fire and accident rescue) Fire Truck
Land (fast response) Police Car
Sea (attack) shark
Air (assault) Bird
Air (intercept) fighter plane.

Obviously the back part being a aerial portion suggest flight capability and shark legs the ability to swim.

I think it's quite likely that not only can each one be swapped in position but they can also form any segment in a mixed team too. so long as the connections used are the same.

Personally I plan to buy 3 of each if at all possible to do so.

 

Really disappointed by the fact they're Autobots. I don't really want 2 sets of Autobot combiners, I would've definitely gotten both if they were different factions, but now I might reconsider getting them.

 

I'm not really digging these, but to each their own.

That lion guy was almost awesome....lion head is waaaay too big.

Those are some crap beast modes! Looks like Magnaboss and Tripredacus don't have have to worry about getting de-throned as the best beast combiners.

 

Anyone else think the eagle looks like the animorphs tobias toy?

 

I like the vehicles better but these are cool too. Really looking forward to the shark though.

 

OH! HECK! YES! I know the samurai team is very brave as well, but this set braves it to the max. Reminds me, aesthetically, of Shadow Dagwon.

I'm preordering this team. They appear to have similar builds/transformations as the samurai team, but the colors are a more pleasing group, and mechanical beast modes kind of let you get away with some wonkiness that's present in the vehicle modes of the samurai team.

Edit: wait, what's with the baby blue electric ponytail/hat tail thing? Odd
