that first post in the screenshot is pretty good  

the differences in color blocking and new head really go a long ways to making Rotorstorm ALMOST look like a new mold. shame there's not a different way to transform the tail, so it could hang down or something to give him a different look.

Still salty about Hasbro's head mix up, I'd have preordered with the other guys if he hadn't been announced as a straight repaint.

 

Maybe Hasbro literally meant "Map Waves" as in waves of map piece releases with no relation to the actual "Wave" the figures arrive in?

If @Apollux and his source are to be believe, it seems like Earthrise was only ever planned as 3 waves and those of us that interpreted the image as reading Map: wave 1, 2, 3 and 4 were incorrect and it was instead Map Wave: 1, 2, 3 and 4. The more information that comes out, the more it seems like that was the case.

This is the first time I’m tempted to get a retooled figure based solely on the new colors and my love for the original mold. This mold design is so awesome.

I kinda would like Seeker-style repaints of Spinister...

I had my doubts about a "wave 4" the minute it took until July/August for Wave 2 anything to hit store shelves. But with the whole map thing: if we're being technical both Sky Lynx and Scorponok are "Wave 1" of their price points but they aren't a part of "Map Wave 1", so that's unlikely what Hasbro's thought process is here.

Plus reading posts in this thread about "wave 4 is still happening! They said so on the map!" makes me think we're missing an obligatory post from someone like Nevermore coming in and reminding everyone that "that's not how this works!"

 

I figured wave 4 could have been possible because last year we got waves 4 and 5 pretty close together, but if wave 4 was never a thing then none of its contents got shuffled to exclusives, so I can feel at least somewhat vindicated for being skeptical on all of those theories
