I hope they re-release him in the Studio Series 86 Line, with a more accurate yellow.

 

He's not even out yet and takara test shots are pretty regularly the wrong colors (anyone remember the pink allicon?)

 

I've already got my order in, so I'll probably just paint mine. (unless it looks better in-hand)
Still, I don't get why this keeps happening. They had the color correct for Hubcap. Is this being requested by Volkswagen or something?

 

You know what? Youre right. I thought his chest ended up barren but it was the lower writing, which is absent from the Netflix one too.

 

Yeah I was a bit disappointed about that.

 

I just checked the render. It’s the same shade yellow. If it’s not their intended color choices, they need to alert the consumers of that fact.

 

I like the more 'Cheesy' yellow than the other yellow. The more pure yellow just makes it look ugly

 

Why not just get the US release?

You know what I'm not a fan of elita her head looks like it should be on a Voyager toy.

 

I'm probably in the minority here, but I really like Elita's color scheme on this toy. The salmon-pink and kinda champagne color on her shins and arms looks really nice to me. The white thighs are maybe a little bit out of place, but they don't bother me. Also her head sculpt looks great.

Impactor, on the other hand, looks dingy and kinda gross with that grimy yellow. And it's a bummer they used the more Marvel-ish head sculpt than the superior (IMO) IDW version. So I'm definitely skipping Impactor but picking up Elita.

hmm.. in time you can rub the paint off a bit, but overall, if the paint is high quality and very liquid. It's usually acceptable.

 

No difference between Takara and Hasbro releases outside of the Japanese text sticker...

Come to think of it, I just went and looked at my SS-18 Bee and he's not really a pure yellow either. But I was okay with that one. If Netflix Bee is close to that same plastic color, I can probably deal with it.
