They've picked up on some tricks as they've gone from mold to mold and now they're applying them as needed.

 

Spelling and new names to get around copyright laws aren't things I get bothered with.

 

And it’s great to see.
I was content with Siege Optimus, but was way more impressed with SS BB Optimus and h e entertained the idea of picking up a 2nd one to make into a G1 OP.

While this might not be a 1:1 direct remold / retooling but more of re-implementation of engineering ideas, Hasbro has already done the work for me.

 

If they go by Siege as an example on how to spread out the seekers so they won’t clog shelves...

Make Ramjet a mainline release. Make Thrust available as a store exclusive. Have Dirge only in a value pack. Then have the Welcoming Committee as a boxed set exclusive (which would piss off the people who just want Sunstorm). Not sure how to get Nacelle or Sandstorm or whatever other Seekers still remain.

 

Well, crap. I\'m gonna have to get that Optimus. Even though I have Siege Optimus, MP Optimus, and several others. I love that robot...

 

id say do 2 three packs, 1 of skywarp, thundercracker and sunstorm and then a 2nd one of nacelle, bitstream and hotlink. granted nacelle, bitstream and hotlink should technically be made from the siege seeker mold and not the earthrise one. sunstorm has had an earth mode in the past before though in fiction outside of obscure club stuff

 

My hope is that ER Prime is Hasbro’s new standard piece for Optimus promotional/silly recolors.

MP10 was a bit expensive for that. Ecto-35 likely could have been a wide retail figure at more of a CHUG price point.

MP44 is WAAAAAAY too expensive for every partnership.

ER Prime is perfect for a Pepsi Convoy and Ecto-35 deco and Nemesis Prime and SG and 7-11 and so on. Would I buy all of them? No. But I can’t say I could resist a few more either.

And Hasbro needed a REALLY on model CHUG Optimus to use as a foundation for an Optimus that sells to people who don’t collect Transformers but who might have a vague memory of Optimus and who would want Death Row Records Optimus or Captain Crunch Delivery Truck Optimus.

 

agreed on all but ecto prime, simply because an earthrise prime would not scale with ectotron/they would need to do a chug ectotron. and before you say that ectotron is a chug figure because he reuses a few parts of cw hotspot, that may be true, but he is scaled as a masterpiece figure, so he is too big for a chug collection and a voyager prime would be too small to pair with him

I'm probably gonna think of skipping out on Starscream then eventually seeing it in stores and buying as many repaints as I can

 

I was never much of a fan of Grapple tbh, but even so, this figure looks like he stepped straight out of the cartoon and that's reason enough for me to get 'im. Really glad I passed on the original CHUG version as it would be yet another clunker of a toy I'd have to get rid of, lol.
Starscream and his seeker cohorts are always no brainers for me, plus the scale adjustment is a very welcome bonus.

 

Screw scale and enjoy figures.

 

I'm thinking that I will skip the main seekers this run and keep them in Cybertron mode, and if the Coneheads come out, then I am all in for those three. I really love the Siege versions for the Seekers, and I can be happy with the original 3 in Tetra mode.

I need a toy colored version or G2 version with Yellow eyes and Blue face.

I'll Take Nemesis ....if they alter the head...even just some damage would be enough. Siege Prime head is too passive to see being a bad guy.

Until next year’s! It never ends   I agree totally though, whilst there’s minor changes I’d make to the deco I genuinely don’t see how they can make a better Prime at this size/price point. If the odd optional extra like a Battlemaster Roller or the like is available then great, but physically with the mold itself I think this is it for me.

I agree 100% on this as well. To me the mold itself seems perfect for Prime, the only area I think you can have any sort
of gripe is in the way it’s painted and even then it’ll be subjective for different people.

I’m more than happy if this is the standard for Optimus going forward, like you say some of the variants I wouldn’t pick up at Masterpiece size I’d definitely consider them at this one. You may even be able to release just the Cab at a smaller price point in the future (if they can figure something out with the inner legs being on the Trailer’s mold)
