The orange tip is the only U.S. federal requirement for toy guns, so legally speaking, an orange tip is the only thing mandated. Logistically, however, there ARE some localities (NYC, for example) that require more stringent modifications, such as ''crazy coloring'' for the toy. Trying to do a ''good'' Megatron but not being able to ship to a few places would be a headache. And at that point, then you can also add in any PR issues, inevitably there'll be some parents that have to freak out about it. Not like back in the 80s, where we didn't want toy guns if they weren't realistic looking.

I don’t feel “tricked” that earth modes can out so soon, but I am disappointed...I wanted more Cybertron Alt Modes and designs...oh well.

I am disappointed that earth Megs looks so much like his Siege. But hoping for a near complete over haul, similar to ER OP, was too much to ask I guess.

Yeah, even if it's not the majority of the country that requires the unrealistic proportions and colors, they're not going to create different products to sell specifically in different parts of the country, and even in areas where the law doesn't require them to, major retailers don't seem to want to sell much in the way of remotely-realistic toy guns (like TRU specifically turning down the blue-and-orange "Safety Megatron" G1 reissue).

The RTS Legends class Megatron I think was able to get away with it mainly due to its very small size, extremely unlikely to be confused for a real gun.

That is about what I was thinking..no more Megs', enough, not one more.

I am also slightly disappointed by this version, it is almost like astrotrain. They could have done SO MUCH more. What happened to the light piping? something...

There can be no Megatron O-N-L-Y Galvatron.

Well, In a way I'm glad they added the battle damage to megs, now I can cancel my preorder. Between siege, cell-shaded, Netflix, and earthrise. Megs will be the king of the peg warmer. Not to mention what a studio series 86 movie megs might be (if that happens). I'll probably pick him up when he is $16, just like I did with siege. His clean look and the fact that he seemed to be a slightly better G1 representation made me want to get him.

I'll be honest. For Earthrise I was really crossing my fingers for a G2 Megatron. I think we're about due. And I'm not talking about the Generations Selects version that came out last years; I mean like an Earthrise toy which looked like his original G2 release.

Or lower, depending on where you live - under 610 for me. Some states don't have a sales tax at all.

I was seriously thinking that was going to be the case. That G2 perfection figure that makes even the Hero figure look chunky and underarticulated. Then they'd even go in for that extra step and have a small selection of stickers including the Decepticon Symbol inside the Cobra symbol for any who wanted it.

Earthrise Megatron is just Siege with... "enhancements". I can't find my way to spend another $30.00 on him.

I mean I know repaint allow for those who missed the other versions a chance to get the molds and brings in more money for little work, but Hasbro has been squeezing every single penny they can out of these micro masters in around five different mold sets...

    time to play, "Who......Will.......Warm......The Shelves?!"
My guess, after a Siege and Netflix Megatron, it will be Earthrise Megatron...something about him looks weird to me.
    carry on...

$609 shipped for me after tax. Also saying hasbro was selling it for over $575 is stil incorrect. When you buy a deluxe from hasbro pulse it is $19.99 + tax, not $22.
