Agreed. I was thinking of the Igear sharticons that had the purple leader figure.

Welp, that\'s it for me, TT all the way on this one.very nice.
nice stock render
Can't wait to buy those micromasters! So cool!
Huh? These are pictures of actual figures. Takara doesn't use renders like Hasbro.
It’ll be the same from both hasbro and takara

But... Hasbro and Takara's releases are the same...
I have to say the light pink looked horrible in the first CG renderred product images but the real thing doesn't look that bad. It even looks better than in the Hasbro colours. Maybe they shouldn't have changed it
For once I actually like the production colours more then the renders on Airwave.
Is that the final transformation in alt-mode?
I mean it only looks like they pulled his gator face out of his chest and twisted the bot arms back and nothing else.
If that's the definitive alt-mode then they did a better job with the Cyberverse Sharkticons quality wise.
"We're sorry we tried to do something different with this toy of a garbage can monster. Please accept the exact same garbage can monster toy as the Americans are getting instead."
Let me guess, you wanted grey hands and blue biceps on Optimus too didn't you? They weren't going to be doing anything different, takara has a habit of using non final figures for promo materials
I don't actually care what ER OP looks like since I haven't bought one and don't particularly plan to. Exhaustive recreations of the Sunbow model sheets isn't my thing. If you like that sort of stuff, then cool, WFC is the line for you.
I don't, and enjoy having the extra money in my pocket for other things. At least if there were two color variants of Alicon, you could buy one as the "leader" and multiples of the other as "troopers" but, you know, that wouldn't look just like the one on the tee vee.
Again, if you want everything to be perfect little 3D versions of the animation models, right on, that's cool, you do you - but I'm already bored with it, because I find those models to be boring after thirty-five years of them.
(Also, the part where we're getting MOAR SUNBOW in lieu of say, the IDW Phase 2 designs, or Animated, or Unicron Trilogy, or a completely new aesthetic as far from Sunbow as the Bay designs are, you know?)
But again, enjoy your perfect likeness of the garbage can robot guys from the movie who stand up to transform.
I really like how you are insinuating a lot about me from my statement.
I've said this several times in the past. The alt-mode they're displaying doesn't look like this :
I'm not quite sure why they think the current display of Gator mode is acceptable. 3rd party got it done right and this was years ago.
Probably because the original concept for the show was to be a cartoon spin-off of the live action movie before it became it's own thing.
iGear's gator mode was ok, got a nice snout but his little gator arms were still all wrong. (Plus that figure as a whole is trash quality, but that's neither here nor there.)
I like that you think Hasbro isn’t going to do a repaint of this. (in which case, of course I’d want the first version to be most accurate to what I saw on screen)
You’re right about it being 35 years old though, which is how long I’ve waited for a toy of this guy. In which case you’d better believe I want the one I saw on the tee vee.
But don’t worry, give it 12-18 months & you’ll have more flavours/colours of him than Coke.
Yeah, when I saw "redeco" and cartoon accurate I thought they might have an alternate transformation that looked better. Robot mode looks great though. And I love that they're trying to make this a figure lol. He just looks like a hunched over robot in mid transformation, sorta like Robotech's jet with legs transformation.
