@ everyone saying “It’s just a toy, stop complaining about it”

We’re all posting on a website that’s dedicated solely to toys. If we’re not supposed to voice our concerns here, then where do we go?

"Unpaintable plastic" has existed for literally decades. It's the kind of plastic that has a less gloss finish but is more robust. You usually saw it in joints, like BW Waspinator's shoulders.

Or the opposite, a pizza burger. Mugshots has one that is pretty good.

Also the Combiner Wars Dead End / Prowl mold. The elbow joint/strip in the door (gray on Dead End, black on Prowl) was this same "unpaintable" plastic.

Yeah, but I mean: if they know this type of plastic is unpaintable, why use it in your build only to then figure out you can’t paint it?

I understand that changes and tweaks will always happen, due to unforseen circumstances and/or costs. But two figures are now being released that have some major changes from their original promotional renders.

With Barricade I can sort of see it happening since the mold and which sprues are which were probably decided and planned during Prowl’s phase. But Prime? No idea.

Because the hands weren't meant to be painted. They were intended to be molded blue with the legs and head. Unfortunately they couldn't put the hands on that sprue without going over-budget. Probably made it too wide. Instead they are being molded with the thighs and part of the trailer, which had already been decided to be that kind of plastic.

"Voicing concern" is one thing. This is turning into petty bitching.

The concern was "the hands aren't blue." The response was "yep, unfortunately we weren't able to make the molds work without sacrificing accuracy on either the hands or thighs/trailer."

I'd love for them to repaint a Prime into something other than Nemesis for once.

did you already pay for your prime and get your prime in hand somehow months before everyone else? if not........then your analogy is incredibly wrong.

Nothing's stopping them from doing a different trailer with a future reuse of the mold.

    1. the hands are going to be painted on the actual released figures

    2. Painting the hands were going to to cost more than their budget allows

its one of those 2............. because I guarantee you its not that they screwed up and didnt follow through with the blue hands on the render they designed.

It's kinda like the Siege and PotP leaders. They're set up for some fun potential if they choose to go with it. I hope they finally do.

Who here is mentally incapable of painting 2 fists from grey to blue? it only costs like 2 $... if you have time to whine like a baby on this board... you'll have the time to paint 2 fists.

Who here is mentally incapable of understanding that some people want to buy a product and enjoy it without needing to perform maintenance on it first?

If I want to cut sprues, apply sticker or paint stuff I buy model kits. And surprise: I don’t. Because I hate doing all of these things.
