Ohhh this looks so nice! The mould looks great in more traditional colors, its almost like a G1 take on Prime OP and I really like the head sculpt  

The trailer... While I am not impressed by the Earthrise trailer being reused because its so dinky, I do like that they actually got the colors right this time if the render is any indication. The side detailing looks a lot nicer with the G1 toy/MP-10 inspired stripe, and it looks much less bland in general! The shade of gray looks a lot nicer and the color separation between the trailer and the tires with the black works well.

Really hoping to see some in-hand shots soon, I want to get a closer look at that noggin and the trailer!

 

Hate to be so pessimistic, but the deco just feels boring, at least in truck mode. It could really use some more gray/silver.

 

Yeah I'm honestly baffled at all the "OMG MY NEW MAIN OPTIMUS" posts and tweets about this. It's such a dull deco, and the robot mode is barely Optimus outside of the slapped on chestpiece. The red on the legs is awful.

 

Still hope for a new G2 Hero Optimus from this mold, the potential is there.

Honestly, I prefer Holiday Optimus.

But if they want to retool this as a G1ized DOTM Megatron, I might be in.

 

A lot of people are missing the point, part of the appeal is the licensed truck, and great transformation.

 

almost as though they care about the transformer transforming into a realistic truck.

 

money so tight they can't spare 2 cents to throw a white stripe down the side of the cab? I do like it but I dunno I'm still going to hold out for the possible g2 repaints.

 

its probably meant to replicate the deco of a real volvo lorry.

That’s weird, I can’t seem to find any Volvo truck Optimus Primes from the vintage G1 line.

 

Yeah, holiday prime looks better. Plus, they missed the oportunity to do a sureshot/hero optimus prime

 

It's not really a missed opportunity, people would complain about Hero Optimus not being accurate because his legs would be backwards.

 

So happy they are redoing the Holiday Prime mold in a more appropriate deco. I wanted the mold but I had no desire for the holiday deco

 

I'd rather if sureshot got his own mold. There's only a slight resemblance in both modes, it's missing the long bed with the cannon and missiles.

 

Hopefully we get an instock ready to order thing instead of a 4-6 preorder wait. This things been in the works for a while…

 

I'm sorry what? How does it look bad? Like to each their own of course.

But it's a pretty cool looking figure with a unique transformation and it's a different spin on the Optimus with a real world Volvo truck. So I don't know how it's just G1 again lol.
