The bigger question is “does it sell well and look good”. Hasbro isn’t run by two Chinese people that have nothing to lose, they have a cooperate entity to answer to. Their main audience is children, not Gen Xers. I cannot see Hasbro making millions of copies dedicated for an engine mold with ball joints and somehow selling like hot cakes. Doubledealer by itself is so obscure we didn’t get a third party toy or any real update (no, T30 doesn’t count) till today.

I think you've confused the issue. I made the following main points:

- That I was happy with the cassette versions, but not happy with them being sold in pack with OTHER figures, which seems to be money-grubbing and not in keeping with selling 2-packs of Micromasters.

- This is further bad-form as actual 4-packs of full Micromaster teams hasn't been sold.

- That there might be 3P versions of DD's Powermaster partners as an add-on kit, and that I would rather buy that, instead of the official release.

Also, where do you get the misconception that I'm pining for a cartoon-accurate toy? If anything, I've made it clear that I want a G1 TOY accurate version.

 

Hopefully it doesn't end up like Ratchet and Skywarp.

 

My EE order just shipped, so that's faster than I expected.

 

My own theory is that, if their willing to do a double pack of the bat and frumble mold, then they're probably going to do a double pack of the cat and bird mold as Howlback, Glit, Buzzsaw, and Garboil.
After that, the only cassettes left that could be done with those molds would be... Sundor and Enemy? but then we run into the issue of those molds needing their partners since we have a bird and the frumble mold, and I dont think theres any bat characters left, bot or con, that Enemy could be matched with. Nor any decepticon cats for Sundor to go with, though if they went with an autobot since Sundor was a infiltrator to the bots, they could go with Stripes or even Blackcat though I doubt theyd go THAT obscure.

 

I think they could go with obscure characters if they are with other known characters. If they need run out of existing characters,I am okay if they made up new characters for the cassettes, especially if they are for DD.

 

I’d like Komoribreast to be repainted from Ratbat. Or as it would probably be called in America, Battlebeast or something.



Jaguarbreast would be repainted from Ravage


And Hawkbreast would be repainted from Laserbeak.

It'd be nice if hastak did actual new versions of them to replace the terrible UW set to go with potential breast animals, but that's probably not gonna happen any time soon
Though
Eaglebreast could work as the laserbeak mold if they decide to do a new Deathsaurus as a leader or commander, but that is even more unlikely then getting a star saber commander at this point

 

Not a bad idea. Of course in hindsight it's too bad Hasbro's Liokaiser was made before PotP and their partners wouldn't have the Prime Armor ports on the chests.

mine shipped from EE on the 15th, tracking shows it left the Dallas area last night and is heading to Houston. So I should be getting it in a day or two.

Just arrived!

The bats are a very snug fit.

if they are placed facing in, you have to force it all the way in, and the chest won't open, you'll have to pry it out. They wing hinges are too wide.

If placed facing out, the chest is stuck about 50% of the time. But still easy to open by hand and easy to remove.

It's not weird, not really. Nothing is 100% perfect. All it takes is one single variance, to throw everything else off. And in manufacturing, there can be multiple variances. We try to minimize those variations, but unfortunately nothing is 100% perfect.
