Transformers Generations Deluxe(Japanese collector's guide) will be reprinted, and sold at upcoming Transformers Expo Japan. this is just a 2nd reprint, so no new materials. after the event, the remaining books will be sold via normal book distribution route, but the publisher says numbers are very limited. I don't know the foreign fans want the book, anyway just a heads up. ;)

I have the original on my bookshelf along with all of the newer ones.

If I can get a good deal on a second, I'll bite. Everyone should own this.

I hope they eventually make a book to bridge the gap between this one and the newer ones.

Oh NICE. I bought this book many years ago, long before I had any real clue about the Japanese-exclusive cartoons or toylines or who any of the characters in them were. Couldn't and still can't read a word of it - yet despite being a large book of confusing moonspeak featuring lots of pictures of toys I had no frame of reference for an no knowledge of, I didn't regret it for a second. It's really an essential piece for your bookshelf - everyone who doesn't have one ought to take this chance to get a copy.

Well that's interesting. I picked up the original book while studying abroad in 2001. Never knew they did a Deluxe version until after it was out of print. Now I am pondering if the extra content in the Deluxe version is worth double dipping.

    This is amazing news.
I have been debating on buying this book for a long time, however the price kept me away.
Really looking forward to being able to get my hands on a new copy; it will be great to add to the collection.

If anyone is pondering on getting it, I recommend it. I is mostly in Japanese a tiny bit in English. What makes it worth it is all the great pictures. I got the original when I was stationed in Japan years ago and saw the deluxe version being offered I believe was E-hobby and got that too. I compared the two and the only difference was towards the back, there are some concept animation drawings. The deluxe version has a couple more pages of these drawings. It would be nice in this reprint to have an English version.

Was this originally printed before the Generations series from Million Publishing?

I'm trying to remember when it was published....I think it was late 2001 or early 2002....it was around the time that the Car Robots (Japan) toys had hit the stores and the Webdiver series was dying off.

You can order it yourself, the process is pretty easy. Amazon Japan ships books internationally. There is a button on the right to view the page in English. Put it in your cart and during check out, there's a link for entering an international address. From there it is self explanatory. I just put in an order and it was 2800 yen + 1200 yen for shipping, so 4000 yen shipped, which is about $39.

Yeah, it's incredible. I had to sell my original copy during a period of financial hardship years ago. It's the only thing I've ever sold that I regretted. If you've never seen it, it is absolutely worth the money.
