Oh my god, is that Optimus Primal riding Lio Convoy on the cover? Man that's awesome. It's basically Legends X MP themed, that's so cool.

Also I spy a BW 20th anniversary sticker on the cover, alongside what seems to be concept art for the original BW toys? Does that mean we'll get a retro toy section for BW like we did with Car Robots in last year’s book? Because that would be icing on the cake.

They also include the artwork for Takara Legends boxarts, that’s great!

Well shit I guess I need to buy this. One question though: Why is it labeled "Volume 1"? I own the book from last year and it wasn't labeled like that

Can someone answer me why the book is called Generations 2017, when last year's book was called Generations 2015?! They're making me feel like I missed one, when I know I didn't!
    By Furman and Guidi!

Anyway, I can't wait to see the Beast Wars lineart. Last year's book had a whole Car Robots section, and it was amazing.

    The website Type-R linked reads:

    "VOL.1:ARCHIVE OF 2016 AND PRELUDE TO 2017"

Which is exactly what least year’s book was (archive of 2015, prelude to 2016) but they still called it 2015... meh.

I'm looking at my copy right now (it's been on my desk the past week or so as I await the new volume), and I only see:
    TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS 2015
    トランスフォーマージェネレーション2015

On the cover, on the spine, on the back cover, on the title page, and in the indicia. No "Archive" or "Prelude" anywhere on my copy. Maybe there was a second printing or something?

No I mean that was essentially what last year’s book was right? It had everything from 2015 and some 2016 stuff, so it's technically the same here but they call it 2017 instead of 2016 now, that's what I find weird.

Ah, yeah, I see what you mean. Yeah, it's basically a year in review, with a couple previews of upcoming MPs. Maybe that's why they renamed it. It comes out at the end of the year, and they don't want people to think it's an old book.

There will be a second volume in 2017 at some point.

Some years have 1 book, some years have 2, and others have 0.

    Depends on the year.

Got it. Oh well, I don’t buy it for completion anyways, I want to see the BW stuff in there.

So Yuki Ohshima did the cover, but he's not doing the comic inside? Damn. I was hoping for another of his "Wars" series.

I wonder if that green 'building' between Megatron's legs on the cover is at all significant? There's no work on that cover that's not going to be a toy, I wonder if it could be a tease of Trypticon? (Possibly his main tower, if it's painted in his green colour this time rather than all purple)
