Putting aside the actual character choice, how the hell does that mold win?

 

GoShooter's an interesting choice, though I would've preferred Police Sunstreaker or Deadlock to win. Still, another Autobot added to their ranks!

Easy, cause Shuta aka GoShooter is more or less the main character of the best Japanese Transformers cartoon ever made. He's the only character who's in every episode of Masterforce.

 

I'll certainly grant it's possible. But for several reasons (you cite one very good one), I don't see it as likely. Of course, we haven't even mentioned the probability that FP would be more likely to do Siren before trying to attempt Go Shooter.

But who knows? They do like going random when they can.

The fandom confuses me at times. I remember getting my ass chewed for even suggesting Universe Cheetor repainted as Tigatron, yet they vote highly for a repaint made into Silverbolt that barely evokes the character.

 

Screw that poll, I want Omnibots anyway.

 

Like I said earlier... People probably didn't choose one because for many it's an "all or nothing" deal. You can't just make one Omnibot.

I thought he meant Fansproject (the other FP). There's a good chance we'll get one eventually if the line stays as strong as it seems to be heading.

Most likely he's under the mistaken impression that the GoShooter figure is using the Bumblebee head since that's what it shows in the picture. Mind you, the text in that picture clearly puts in a disclaimer claiming that the final product will use the Nightbeat head, but for someone who can't read Japanese that's an easy mistake to make.

Mind you, the requirement to do research is still true.

Anyway, this is a chance to add Siren to my lineup. He's probably going to be ridiculously expensive though.

Well you never know what's going to spark an ass-chewing rampage.

That said, exclusives and mass release items are held to different standards. Tigatron from Cheetor would be thunderously awesome as an exclusive (i.e. something that ain't gonna get done otherwise) but as a mass release with no retooling, it would feel like a missed trick, not incorporating the redesigned elements that were brought into the animation years ago.

OTOH you may have also run into the legions of fans who just really fucking hate that figure and don't want it used as anyone ever. Grimwing is a popular mold and one of the few Transformers that even remotely resembles a Fuzor that wasn't designed as one.

 

I have a nice custom of that. They should have done that retail.

Right?! It was a joke as Bumblebee (as is anything that isn't a VW Bug), not much better as Goldfire, ONLY DECENT USE AS NIGHTBEAT (yet to be seen), and before it became this Go-Shooter fella, it was announced it'd be used in the TFCC's TFSS3.0, and even they knew it was so lame they had to package it with a LEG-O (Kre-o) FIGURE!

I agree, but I'm getting sick of cool characters like him and Devcon having to share such a generic mold with such a lame alt-mode!

Design ONE KICKASS figure with a BITCHIN' alt-mode, have IT be Alpha Trion, and then make it as lame and flat as you want to distinguish it into other 'bots. Don't just use something generic to "maybe apply!"

 

Wow, mighta dropped the money on Alpha Trion, but Goshooter is an EASY pass.

 

The way I figure it, if I were a BW fan I'd be elated to get an update period, I wouldn't nitpick it too much. Hell, I'd be indignant if they didn't do a Tigatron.
