And of course this poll makes me realize that my preferences rarely match up with the fandom at large, regardless of which country of origin. Don't get me wrong, Go Shooter is a nice idea, I just would have went for Alpha Trion or Clampdown first. On the plus side, maybe the next time they'll pick blue Bluestreak for the Datsun Bro. repaint.

 

Okay... after being reminded of the Nightbeat head... that's a MUCH more awesome idea. I'm pretty excited about it now.

 

With Generations running out of "early" G1 cars, maybe the Omnibots can be worked into the main Generations line... or worst case scenario, TFCCSS.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if the top three got made.

 

Damned if I know, I haven't bought any Takara toys other than Masterpiece since Senator Ratbat. I'm not going to speculate how they run their business. My comment had to do with the merit of these repaints.

 

It stinks that Overdrive, Downshift, and Camshaft scored so low on that pole. They were the only ones that I would have wanted, well them and Alpha Trion.

 

That's pretty awesome about Goshooter/ Siren. I feel that mold works better for him than Nightbeat.( I would have preferred the Jazz mold) But I'm quite devastated about the Omnibots. I mean look at those numbers! We're they just not as popular there? I know about the mail away exclusivity of them but DAMN!

Decent use of the mold, just not a mold that I am really that into. Guess it is a good thing that 2/3 of the top three are 2 of the 3 that I probably wouldn't buy. Some cool ideas, hope they find a way to release most/all of them.

 

Think of it this way. in a potential American poll with a popular human or robot character or an obscure japanese character. Who do you think would win? This is basically the Japanese equivalent of that.

 

Agreed! That BB mold is crap-tastic! Has/Tak should not have used this for ANY exclusive they had in mind.

In fact, the ONLY thing that this mold deserves is a Viking funeral.

The mold isn't the best but I like the character choice.

 

While I don't like the mold either, these ideas come from Hero-X / Million Publishing not Hasbro or TakaraTomy.

GoShooter.....Aww Come On. I can't believe just how close Alpha Trion was to getting made.

Hopefully someone does Alpha Trion from Scourge someday soon.

 

Much rather get new mold Omnibots anyway. They need some love. The mold choices for them in the poll (not to mention decos pictured) really suck.

GoShooter unfortunately will suck just as much as Nightbeat. It just doesn't work - he doens't even have a lightbar not to mention not being a Headmaster.

Hopefully FP will get to him eventually. I'll wait for that.

 

Do you have a mold in mind for an FP version? Obviously, they're under essentially the same restrictions (must use existing molds) as these folks. Whatever remolding FP would be likely to do would almost certainly not add a not-previously-present lightbar, for example, and the possibility of FP doing GoShooter as a Headmaster is remote to say the least (Scorponok notwithstanding), so I'm wondering what mold you're thinking of that would work better.

 

CRAP! I was really wanting that Alpha Trion. Well, maybe its a good thing he lost since thats $100 saved on what's already going to be drain on my wallet in August. But, I wish we can get an awesome Alpha Trion at general retail someday. I'm tired of him mostly being offered through Con sets lately.
