It’s nice to see the next issue this quick, given how the last one had a major delay:

    • We’re shown a montage of Cliffjumper getting mistaken for Bumblebee.
    • The aliens on this planet have been storing their energon supply, which frustrates Deathsaurus, who transforms into his beast mode, kills a civilian and plans to steal their energon.
    • Turns out said aliens burn waste and refine the energy to make energon.
    • Cliffjumper isn’t happy with is, but the odds aren’t in his favour, as Deathsaurus offers him a choice; join him in stealing energon or get scrapped.

It’s a great issue, that puts Cliffjumper into the spotlight, without killing him, and the artwork is brilliant.

Gee whiz who could have thought that trusting the guy named "Deathsaurus" would be a bad idea

I liked it! This was my favorite panel:

I’m starting to buy into the “Deathsaurus is a retool of Commander Sky Lynx” theory.

    Decepticons will be Decepticons.

I wasn’t at all surprised by Deathsaurus’ actions.

Just read it. Excellent issue. Nice to see the lesser known Deathsaurus get the spotlight.
Alex Milne's art is always a pleasure.

Best all around issue of nu-IDW yet. Milne art was amazing.

It was a fun issue and I love the concept of Cliffjumper living in Bumblebee's shadow. Judging by those flashback panels, I'd even guess that he might be a custodian or simply someone very, very low ranking in security operations.
Deathsaurus being an energon hungry dragon that steals from less developed organics is hilariously fitting.

And then there is the art. My god, Alex Milne is simply one of the best. I'll say it again and again but they really need him on the main book. Anna and Beth are great when it comes to drawing characters standing around and talking but so far their action scenes fall very flat and don't really give you a sense of the pace of the battle or any interesting choreography... Alex Milne managed to make Deathsaurus looked expressive in his alt-mode! I don't know...Really makes me wonder how much cooler those early issues in the mainline book (1-7) would have looked under his pencils.

Excellent issue. Lots of laughs with some solid drama. I love how this new continuity is exploring other species and their worlds and customs.

I haven't read this issue. However, the idea of a Transformer freaking out after finding out that part of his meal is made from some other species' barbecued turds amuses me so.

I've often wondered about this myself. Maybe it's not much different than finding out that the one barista at the Starbucks that constantly misspells your name despite your name being "Ed" is just "Lilith Pellman, from Savannah, Georgia", as opposed to "Lilith, Temptress of Man and Mother of All Demons".

Or maybe it's just some ironic nickname that stuck with him at school. Like he was some kind of clumsy tryhard edgelord that got the name "Deathsaurus" by sitting on the mascot turbofox in dragon mode during a pep rally and killed him by accident.

So I ended up really liking this issue.

I love the Skeksis vibes from Deathsaurus here. Such a twat.

And the probobats are actually really cool, even if none of them are really characters yet.

I'm also liking that the "Cliffjumper looks like Bumblebee" joke isn't all that this issue is about, which is what nearly had me skip this issue and give up Galaxies altogether. I will say that this seems already better than the Constructicons story.

Also Milne... and those colours! the art couldn't be better here. In fact I think this is the best looking book released for this continuity.

And Deathsaurus being a sci-fi techno-robot Smaug is delicious.

Yeah the characters aren't as deep as I'd like them, and neither is the plot, but this is still the first issue and it served as a fairly decent introductory to a stylish little story.

Now I know why I liked him so much in this issue. I really need a Deathsaurus toy.

I'll join in agreement: first issue of IDW2 that I enjoyed. I also agree that the idea of CJ being confused for Bee almost had me pass. It was Milnes Art solicited that had me stay long enough to check it out. I'm glad it wasn't the main emphasis (that Starscream panel tho lol) and damn is the art just on point.
I still don't understand why Milne isn't the main artist.

Milne should 100% be the ongoing artist. It’s another level.

I liked the construction run but this is even better. Hopefully things keep going in this direction.

Yeah, Alex's art on this issue is next level. Even better than his IDW1 work. What an amazing creative journey he's had.

Regarding wishing he'd done the original arc of the new continuity, I'm just gonna repost what I wrote in the preview thread:

Great art. Milne did this comic (and this continuity) justice. And I wish the best for CJ.

I am so used to it that I somehow forgot that Cliffjumper hadn’t already died in this continuity. In fact it wasn’t until halfway through this issue that I was like “Oh yeah, huh.”

Loved that Deathsaurus couldn’t be bothered to remember Cliffjumper’s name. It’s was a dumb joke calling him Cliffhangar in that last line, but it was still great.
