Much like he previous issue, it is an action packed issue that reminds me of Doom: Spoiler Ultra Magnus attacks Octane. Ultra Magnus attacks Spinister. Victory Leo intervenes. Ultra Magnus has to save Alpha Trion and Sound Blaster from their ship. Highlights: Rock ‘n’ roll!
Purchased it. The art is great. Easton is a lousy writer, and clearly does not know these characters - at all.
It beats the swizz cheese eating surrender monkey version of his siege Netflix version. At least this guy is proactive. There's a touch of vader about him in his confidence. This is cybertron greatest warrior. I like him
Given that it's a new continuity, characters are allowed to not be identical to their previous incarnations
Yeah this standing around talking gets boring after a while. Tfs is all about action. It's why we all became fans in fairness
Victory Leo's first ever appearance in western Transformers media! IDW2 is really giving the chance for obscure characters to shine and i love it.
Meanwhile in the main ongoing, shit's finally starting after two years! I'm just sad that we wasted 3 whole issues on another fan made character I could care less about.
I will say this: I very much appreciate the sudden influx of characters from Victory suddenly appearing in Western media. Now if only we could get a new Deathsaurus toy (with a proper robot mode)....
I get that people are happy to see some action, and I dig seeing Ultra Magnus fight some aliens for a change, but I still don't find this story very exciting or interesting. Also the dialogue is some of the worst we've seen in these comics, and that's saying something.
Easton is the worst writer in the history of comic books. Don't believe me? Check out that alt history TFTM1986 movie comic featuring SuperStar or SuperScream or whatever ridiculous name it was. Pure cringe.
The what if optimus hadn't died scenario.... Hes a hot rod fanboy so it's written so he doesn't come off bad. It was okay. Not the worse but I get why fans disliked it. Its pure fanfic though. Not a good story. I raced through it Meh
I would have been more interested in the story had the writer used an existing character instead of creating a throwaway character.
If the writer makes a throwaway character compelling and interesting then I don't have any issues with it. The problem was gauge wasn't that type of character. It felt like filler. No real need for it. A mini series focused on say on sideswipe and sunstraker would have been better. Or a story featuring runabout and runamuck and showing how they got separated would've been really cool.
