Good job @Zylly103 for thinking of the blast effects. Adds SO much to this one. Not sure if you can tell but I'm kinda in love with this one.

 

Welp, @Snake_eyes1975 your review sold me...I must have this. This looks like everything I loved about toys back in the day. Ordered it with a pair of the retro Cobra Troopers to play around with. Looking forward to it!

 

Wasnt my intention to "sell" anyone, buddy, Im just seriously excited about this one. Its a riot. Even my son has been non stop messing with it. Hopefully you like it as much as I do, if your a fan of the figures too.

I tried it a few ways, and there are better guys that do it here, but I tried mounting Leader Shockwaves parts to the turret. Theres lots you can do with it after I took the guns off.

Mine arrived this morning, lots of fun! Instructions were... a little unclear, but after a couple of tries, it's actually a reasonably intuitive transformation.

He's more display piece than toy, but I like him quite a lot.

My two complaints, one minor, one annoying.
1) I wish the fusion cannon could mount under the cockpit, sticking out on top of the already extant guns seems like overkill for one spot.
2) The canopy section has a habit of falling off during transformation.

But yeah, lots of fun. Looking forward to AWE Striker Bee and whatever else might be in the pipeline.

Got one. I love it. Still weird how it feels cheap in robot mode but super sturdy in HISS tank mode!

 

This is my biggest complaint. I'm surprised the windshield canopy hasn't cracked the few times the section popped of the hinge onto the floor/table.

I need to play with this more....

 

I can see an Optimus Prime Mobile Missile Launcher coming before we know it.

 

I said in the news thread that it was an ok HISS tank, but since playing with it more I'll upgrade that opinion: it's definitely a good HISS tank. Main reason for that is that all the bot mass ends up reinforcing the thin plastic panels of the tank. The bot kibble of those thin panel tank parts does feel cheap while in bot mode, but when condensed, connected and reinforced that goes away. If someone handed me the tank and didn't tell me that it was a transformer, I'd definitely be ok with it. I can see GI Joe fans being more satisfied with this for that reason.

Bot mode and the transformation engineering is where all the disappointment is for me. I think if they at least made a proper *full* fusion cannon rather than going the full hollow it might have made it easier to overlook the other deficiencies and cheap feel. But you just kind of start with the fusion cannon because that's one of the character's most significant identifying aesthetics and it's so poorly done, so hollow, so jaw-droppingly half assed really, that you start looking at other parts of the bot mode more critically, and which are things you might have forgiven otherwise. They really should have spent the extra buck. I knew the cannon was hollow from the online pics, I was hoping otherwise but in hand it really does look and feel much worse. Then you really start to notice the under arms, and inner thighs and so on....

Megatron isn't a HISS tank. He just wears it and holds the back panel of the tank as a shield because nothing was done to integrate that into the transformation. That's the other disappointment. I can kind of forgive the transformation engineering though given the crossover gimmick. The hollow at this price point, I can't. I don't hate this figure. I just can't stop being disappointed by it because these issues the bot mode has should have never made it to end product.
