This was the appeal (at least to me) of decoys back in 1986: at the time, they were the only way to get screen-accurate toys of the Transformers characters. Remember, this was back even before Actionmasters came along. So the Decoys, at least in comparison to the G1 toys, looked like they had stepped right out of the TV screen. Ironhide and Ratchet even had heads, for goodness' sake! They were just a fun bonus packed in with other figures. And since they generally represented different characters than the ones with which they came packed, it gave you a way to get a representation of some characters whose larger toys you might not be able to acquire (either because they were too expensive or because they had been off the shelf for a year or two by that point).

They also seemed to capitalize on the "little rubber guy" appeal that lines like M.U.S.C.L.E. and Battle Beasts tapped into around that time. As a kid, there was something cool about being able to bring a small army of toys around with you, packed into a case of some sort, so you could enact big scenarios on the go.

That's why I enjoyed decoys, at least. :)  And for the pure nostalgic appeal, assuming they're easy enough to acquire, I might be on board for these as well.

    Decoys are back! Yeah!

If they offer a full set for like $15 on BBTS I might jump on them

At about a buck each, I am all in. I really need to bust out my Decoys and start tracking down all the missing ones. Too many priorities.

Cool, Decoys are back! (At least in Asia.) :thumbs2:

I like that we get comic books as pack-ins with our CW Deluxes here in the U.S., but I really wouldn't mind one of these for a change. Who knows which is cheaper for Hasbro to produce; the idea worked before, so why not issue the little guys again in a trial run? The 30th Anniversary ones that came with SDCC Metroplex are neat, but G1 decoys are classic!

Maybe the old Decoy boxed-sets could be revived too? They are rare and can be ridiculously expensive, for what they are. New, affordable, sets would be tempting.

I always liked decoys because they worked well with micro machines. I had a million micro machines and little playsets so the smaller transformers were awesome for that.

Spoken true from the heart. I agree decoys were awesome pack.ins when I was young boy. I.loved getting two.characters in one package and I called them my comic toys as IMO att, i read comics and used the 8 or so I had to enact the stories. I remember having Prime Nd Megatron and that was a big deal to me! lol
