It's still weird how this is the Optimus mold with the most redecos and not the ER or main Siege Optimus.

This is one of my biggest gripe on this iteration of Springer. Leader budget for such a mediocre rotor sword. They could at least try to do something to make the rotor blades to look the way it should be in chopper mode.

And for me it was an excuse to take him off the shelf and photograph him! Thank you.

Thinking about it, I think we're adding up the prices wrong for Soundwave. I think Hasbro is counting each cassette as a core release as opposed to how Laserbeak & Ravage were originally released. Now I'd argue those cassettes aren't worth core price, but that's probably Hasbro's logic regardless.

With that it would be $35 + $30, which would add up to $65. So hypothetically we'd be saving $10 with this release. We're seeing a similar thing with Thundertron who I believe was mentioned to be going for $60. He is a voyager + a deluxe + a core. So: $35 + $25 + $10 = $70. So in that scenario you're also saving $10.

Now personally I'm on the fence on whether or not that's worth it, but I could see how it's good value to someone else.

That kinda feels like we're inserting "even better deal" where there isn't necessarily any. Taking Optimus + Bullseye into account too, I think they're considering these Micromaster two-pack cassette molds as basically the price they were when they came out: ~$5 for each one. Not that there wouldn't be circumstances where Hasbro would be asking us to cough up Core price amount for one of them, but that's not even what's happening in the scenario you mentioned.

Optimus ($55) + Bullseye ($5) = $60, which is what the pack is priced at. Soundwave ($35) + Laserbeak ($5) + Ravage ($5) + Frenzy ($10) = $55, which is what the release is priced at. Thundertron ($35) + Calcitron ($25) + Nightstrike ($5) = $65, which is $5 more than the price of the pack (there have been multipacks where the total price is significantly lower than what the individual figures within would be worth, but this is closer to the typical "give or take $5").

I’ve been trying to collect at least one version of each of this mold, and I can’t decide if I should go with Tseng Prime or GUOP.

Kinda want the paint/look of Prime? But it feels like I’m cheating him out compared to Magnus/Nova.

Isn't there a fan stream scheduled for June already? Is that when we might see Evolution and SS wave 4 revealed? I've looked around and cannot find the date - if anyone has it, I'd appreciate it.

There will be another Fanstream in June, and it will likely cover all the things that you mentioned, but we don't have a date, yet. (Fairly so, given the fact that it hasn't even been a week, since the last Fanstream.)

But the comics used the cartoon design, just in slightly different colours.

It also used details from the toy. Like the yellow eyes and weirdly extended rifle barrel.

Legacy United wave 4 - in June
Studio Series wave 4 - at SDCC in July
Both were confirmed by Bmac during the last 2 fanstreams.

I don’t even think they need to squeeze it hard. They did fine with Armada Prime.
And he absolutely should be PM Prime, a Commander, no Godbomber. I literally could not care less about GB and I do not want to pay Titan prices for that. If some people have to have it, sell them separately. I will pass on it if they bundle the two together, and I doubt I would be the only one.

Honestly, the trailer does nothing for me. Wouldn’t bother me a bit to not have it.

what about the powermaster, because they have to add it and they'll probably want it to be good

What, Hi-Q? It feels like that should be able to fit into a Commander price point. Definitely not a reason to double the price, imo.

It's the (superior) earlier revision of toon optimus with colours suited for a comic book, but its far closer to the final cartoon design than the toy.

All 3 looks are their own distinct thing, no need to call him "comic universe" especially when an actual comic universe marvel optimus could happen from the ss86 mold.
