Is a hard cover going to be available? I like the price of the paper back but the collector in me wants it to match Exodus.

I hope there's femmes in this story (and since Solus Prime is mentioned, maybe there will be).

I don't remember reading about Arcee or Slipstream in Exodus, so this has me excited.

I just got mine today from the book store, I was bummed out too LOL!

It means they all share the same history (unless otherwise specified) but have different futures. WFC Earth story may turn out different from whats happening in TF: Prime, but both WFC & Prime share the same back story.

Mine shipped from Amazon a couple of days ago, just wished this one was hardcover like Exodus was...but I'm happy to have a new paperback to read too. :thumb

They would just look better on my TF bookshelves if they "matched".

It's out in paperback? Sweet! Means I don't have to wait! Sorry, but while I enjoy a chance to read some Transformers fiction, the first book really wasn't worth hardback prices (while some parts were good, others read like bad fanfic) and I doubt this will be either.

Try to think of it like the old Marvel and Sunbow G1 universe. Both continuities are considered G1 (as are a few others) even though they're different. In both universes:

    Optimus Prime died and returned.
    Bumblebee became Goldbug.
Unicron shows up to eat Cybertron.
Unicron is defeated by the Matrix.
    Galvatron tries to betray Unicron.
Nebulos becomes involved in the war...
Which leads the way toward Head/Target/Powermasters.

The finer details differ, but in broad strokes, more or the less the same events roughly happened.

Think of the Aligned Universe like that. One's the novel, one's the game, and one is the cartoon. It's all the same story, just a different perspectives. Just a "go with the flow" sort of thing. :)

basically yeah, not so much a "Time Paradox" but an alternate reality. Bulkhead must have stepped on a butterfly, the clutz!

The first one was poorly written, and came off as bad fanfic. I stopped after reading "Six Lasers Over Cybertron" (quite possibly the only name worse than Cobra La) a few times. Pass.

And a reference lifted directly from Beast Wars, just as all the locations on Cybertron were taken from other works and not invented for the book.

And it was a joke. I know if I was writing a serious TF novel, I wouldn't use that location at all. Rename it, if using it is absolutely nessecary.

Why was it a joke? It's a *reference*, sure, because it sounds like the name of a place on Earth. Bt wasn't delivered in a humorous context. It was just a place Cheetor wanted to show Rattrap. Is Cybertron not allowed to have theme parks, or places with light-hearted names? Why not? Absolutely nothing about its name undermines anything in the novel.

I wouldn't compare G1 to the Aligned continuity for the simple fact that the back story is actually VERY different between the comic and the toon... I get your point, but the aligned continuity is suppose to be more intertwined and related than what happened with G1...

The problem is not so much that the Transformers have a theme park (even tho just because Beast Wars did it, doesn't justify it). I didn't even have a problem with them having a comedy club. Its the name, which is an incredibly unoriginal ripoff.

If it wasn't a ripoff the joke would probably fail to make sense to most people.
