The mini-series has nearly concluded, and it sets up for an interesting finale:

    • Straxxus prepares the Arks.
    • An Insecticon swarm heads towards the Autobots.
    • And Emissary, a titan, crash lands onto the planet.
    • All of this causes Dai Atlas to make a stand.

Hopefully, issue #5 comes out in two weeks time!

Update: Issue got delayed by a week. Now it comes out in three weeks (7th July).

Does Straxus betray the autobots or is there any hint of that just something I feel was coming when looking at previews??

He doesn't do anything to betray the Autobots in this issue, but he is at odds with them. Maybe next issue will clarify his stance.

I'm okay with this being a young Straxus before he becomes the psychotic dictator we know him to be.

I mean you can feel that he thinks he's better than other bots and is a control freak. Will be interesting to watch his development.

I mean it seems like they're setting him up to lose big only to return as a psychotic nightmare.

Wondering if the autobots wont hijack the shuttles and Straxus loses it over this "betrayal"

Oh, he will definitely lose it and I can not help but imagine my self laughing at his reaction once that happens. Still would have pitied him nonetheless.

I think Straxxus will lead his people away, abandon Darkmount and the broken Ark to the Autobots/Refugees, and that Ark will be fixed and is what will bring them to Earth.

Something will ... change... Straxxus though. We still have a lot to learn about what corrupted Exarchon...

Okay, this was a really good issue. It might be the best issue from a miniseries so far in this continuity. Even better than the Cliffjumper story in Galaxies I think. Rage and Hydradread and the developing camaraderie were superb, Hound's speech to Dai Atlas and the payoff with him raising his sword, the fact that Straxus has very reasonable motivations and how this conflicts with the main protagonist's goals, the Insecticons being pretty much perfect renditions of the Insecticons, the threat of the clone swarm and that shot of them appearing over the horizon. Look, this issue has me hyped, and I almost wish escape turned out to be longer. This has just been such a nice little story.

As much as this Straxus isn't a thing like Straxus, I guess "should" be, he is kind of a marvelous character. Nothing he has said or done has been disagreeable so far, and it still puts him at odds, and creates conflict, for the heroes of this story. I find myself rooting for Hound, Wheeljack and Nautica, and even Rage and Hydradread being in peril made me fear for their lives, just by how entertaining Rage's constant bitching and Hydradread's passion are. Rage pulling Hydra out of the rubble, MWAH, lovely. I'm so happy some of my favourite obscure characters are getting this kind of attention and in such a great fashion.

I always liked how Rage looks kind of like Transmetal Tarantulas. :)
