You're not wrong. That deluxe Cyberverse Shockwave is easily my favorite of the line for how it looks and his poseability. The recolor isn't bad per say, it's just not really my cup of tea. Nor do I know why they mistransformed him in a number of shots but correctly did it in at least one image.

Honestly the only thing I didn't like about the mold was that his alt mode feet were immediately below his robot mode hands which limited their articulation some. And that was easily fixed just by popping the foot off whatever arm you're going to have as his bare hand.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It’s like they suddenly were aware of it just before they ended the shoot and fixed it, but they’d taken all these other pictures already and figured whatever.

Yes. Just a recolor. I like the toy just fine, but I am disappointed that we are not seeing something new. The Earthspark redesigns for Decepticons have been great so far.

I find that kind of a bizarre reuse of carryover from a completely different series. 1 step changers not withstanding since those were rampantly reused from RID15 on

 

Second wave in and they’re already using repaints from other series for this.

That deluxe Prime looks like absolute trash for $20. The Warrior Megatron is less hollow and fewer bits of kibble. They aren\'t showing the back if Prime because all you\'ll see is the truck cab and hollow legs. It is almost like they took the legion class NuRID Prime and scaled it up.

 

I'm gonna use that 1-step Soundwave as a boomerang to hit the next cubicle guy whenever he annoys me. That 1-step is the only toy that doesn't look like a 1-step in that line.

OP's head sculpt looks better that the animation. It's a decent Deluxe if the backpack can be removed. The backpack's basically a cube, maybe repaint it into the Allspark for OP to carry?

I wish he was voyager as well. Maybe if the Earthspark toyline does well then maybe LEgacy or some line in the future will take a dip in these designs and make them aimed for collectors.

 

Honestly kind of shocked that the Cyberverse Deluxes are redecos/remolds of the first wave ones. I liked how the previous deluxes looked, and given that Earthspark probably has bigger goals to hit, I'm not surprised that they reused a probably undersold toy to mitigate the risk here.

I'm shocked because this Optimus gives like, Deluxe Prime Optimus vibes and I'm kind of into it. I had to pull up pictures of the Shockwave side by side, I way prefer the lavender. It really picks out a lot more of the silhouette of that mold and makes this Shockwave stick out more.

 

As a total Volvo fanboy (shut up, YOU’RE old), wondering if we’ll see a version of that mold that doesn’t look like lukewarm peppermint trash.

if the cannon can stick onto the bottom of megatron's alt mode than it would be the perfect animated homage
