Apparently they didn't remove the rewards... I still have mine.

 

Yeah, just had a recommended power of 2800 on Zone 8, then pulled a level 12 base with 2 Lasers, Missile Launcher, etc. 2800 power was NOT taking that base out.

Really wish they'd get their s*** figured out on this. Even if it was just HQ Level = Zone, it'd be a lot better than this crap. At least you'd have some idea of what to expect at any given zone, and then they could actually try and do proper power recommendations per zone. Sure, you'd see jumps at major HQ levels (+Missile Launcher, +Laser, etc.) but it'd be a hell of a lot easier and make way more sense for both the developers and us, as players.

My progress has essentially stopped because people have wised up and put resources at the back of their base, so I haven't been able to successfully raid a higher level base in a long while. And bases I can raid only give 30-40k, which means at best 20 bases for 1M energon, which I need in spades.

Note, I'm still enjoying the game, but I've gone from almost 3600 medals to just over 2600 medals. Granted, a lot of it is my own fault, with teh way I've been leveling my teams and bots - I have 4x4* bots, but my highest bot is still only 37 despite playing since launch (not Beta.) So I'm probably a bit underpowered, and probably have crappy tactics when taking out bases, but still, all this screwing about with the zones and power and whatnot is NOT helping anything.

Man, that ended up a lot longer of a rant than I meant it to be.

 

I'm about at the same level. Playing since launch, but only a few bots over 30. I ignored it for a while, trying to get to HQ11 and 7 bot shuttle, now I have about 12 bots needing to go to 30+ at 540k each.

Honestly, I've been pretty lucky in bots and have 3* jazz, optimus and Sky Dive as well as 4* stormcrash on my main team. Makes high level raids easier.

Right now my main team is just over 3000 and I'm fairing decently in the 2800 zone. Secondary is around 1900 doing well in the 2000 zone and 3rd team at 1700 winning every match in 1300.

The zones seem to be more accurate now. I'm not at 2900 winning every match in 3600 anymore. I'm doing about 50/50 in a zone near my team's power, which is about where it should be. Doable raids, but not sure things.

 

Heh - just about to write the same thing. Great timing, especially before an event where the zones might make a difference.

I just had a 3300 team creamed in a 3000 zone base, and my 2600 team got absolutely destroyed in a 2800 base. It also one of those close call matches either, my bots were getting cut down by 1/4 of their health per hit.

On the plus side, I did get to see a team go up against my base and get destroyed too. Poor guy didn't know what was going on when his first bot got two-shotted by an autocannon.

 

Lol. Figured id be safe and started upgrading a cannon to ten and a post.
Havent been attacked besides retreats all week and yup. They waltzed in on that side and pulled off the win....

God I thought I was just having an awful day. I sucked at my team event so went to blow off steam and raid energon and got my back side handed to me on levels I usually send my new guy squads on......I eventually chalked it up to sucking yesterday and quit until this mornings start on the weekend event.

 

Yea this zone screw up is really annoy me. I was looking forward to relaxing and grinding out the event and now this zone crap. It is just pissing me off way more then it should due to having a bad week.

 

Did everyone just go insane spending on this event? Seems like you can't keep up with any teams at all unless you get everyone to drop serious cash.

Ruination from The Seekers on the Decepticon side here, I think I read about people putting their hq at the front during the last event to help people out? I did that, so I hope I helped out.  

 

I don't know if it was different when you started playing, but I joined the game just under two weeks ago and have been playing daily, fairly seriously, I think. It's been a real struggle to get over 500 medals and I'm now stalled at around 600. Ever since I hit 300, I've had the choice of doing the 'recommended' zone at a 1/30 reward, or the next zone up, where I *might* get an 8/21 medal ratio. But very often the zone above offers 1/30 as well, and I do sometimes lose those matches.

So I have to be winning, generally, 30 matches for every one I lose not to go down in medals. Another person in my alliance has been stalled between 450 and 500 for the past week, but she's the biggest contributor to the event so far.

I don't think my tactics are *that* bad - half the time I can finish a base in under 30 seconds. But if I pull a well-placed beam cannon and two mortars at high level (ie. at a level where Skydive can't take a mortar out with one strike), then I'm in a lot of trouble.

 

I'm in Cybertron command now. It's pretty insane thats for sure

 

Do I want to know how much cash your top scorers are dropping for energy cells?

 

Damn. My guys were floating around #100-120 during the strafe event. We're doing even better now as far as raids and points and we're BARELY inside the top 300. People are going nuts for this event. Hoping some of them drop off this weekend so we have a better shot.

They definitely need to split factions on this.

A few weeks ago they really screwed up the zones and now medals are even harder to come by than the early days. Like others, I've lost around 800 medals due to this non-sense. I gotta imagine it's super-frustrating for a brand new player. It seems like the new zones might be an improvement, as you can actually win medals by winning battles below the recommended zone. Just not very many at a time.

 

The problem is that losing a battle is absurdly punishing for medals since the change. I was losing 25 or so medals when I would take a B team or C team out to try some new combinations, but my A team could only collect 5 or so medals in the zone higher than they are ranked for currently. If you make a few mistakes, as you would starting out, I could imagine you could wipe out weeks of progress very quickly.
