A maxed lvl 16 base with leveled HQ cores is going to be positively nasty.
Sounds like it would take a team of level 60 4-5* to crack a HQ16.
Or maybe the 8th bot in each squad will make the difference.
9 is the max number of squads you can have as of now. I forget when it unlocked.. Maybe 95kish Combined power?...or somewhere around there.
There are only 9 squad slots available. I don't believe there are plans to increase this, and there really isn't a huge need for it.
As for HQ cores, they will only be able to be applied to a lvl 16 hq. Player level 65 will be required to upgrade. A new league between Play and Cyber will be created which will require 2 wins to move to Cyber.
The takeaway is that lvl 16 is designed for 8 lvl 55+ bots with SA >8. Lvl 10 SA will be unlocked and will require 750k spark. Jet cores are coming to increase SA flier damage.
With regards to the laser and flame cores. The flame will do 240 damage at lvl 1 and is designed for Kup/Dead End. Its radius won't affect gunners. The beam will do 1000 damage, but has a long cooldown.
Also, PotP Sludge and Snarl are out. I just bought them this week for my son.
Warpath's stats are less than ideal.
How so? He deals a fixed percentage damage to everything in his path. At lvl 10 that means everything in his path is gone. Also, his health is better than your average gunner.
His regular DPS. I believe it's the weakest for a gunner in the game. Getting a bot to level 10 SA is pretty rare, so I don't think most people would bother with getting Warpath there.
Went after Star Saber, foolishly. First bundle did have a 3* in it, but I already have that.
Of course my buddy got the 4*.
His health is better though so i suppose it’s a trade off. I only bring up level 10 as that’s going to end up being important to hang against a lvl 16 hq. I see a lot of value in his SA as even if it doesn’t one shot buildings it does considerable damage which could be cleaned up with other bots.
Good points. I can't begin to think about hanging with HQ 16 though...
Current event has been running for 9 hours now. I scored 1,200 points, second guy 500, third one 200. The rest is inactive and I realized they no longer play the game (despite 32 members in alliance). So more or less I can grind like crazy, somehow hope to get to 6,000, most likely on my own, and then I'll get a crystal with poor chance of getting Warpath, right? In other words I should join a different alliance or do one of my own, right?
If I leave alliance, my points earned so far for the event get lost, correct.
You would lose your points, yes... but if you went to a fully active alliance, you'd get anywhere from 30-45 crystals. Instead of just the 1. So I would probably try to find an active alliance, if I were you.
What HQ level are you? How many points do you think you could put up by the end of the event?
Thanks for the info. I’ve been playing the game for 238 days. I’m at level 67, my base is close to being fully upgraded other than harvesters (which I do need to upgrade to toughen it up a bit) and stasis mines.
I’ve finally gotten around 10 bots to level 50/51. SA levels 5-7. I’ve still got a bunch of 4-stars in the level 45-49, and leveling those whole squads seems to be taking forever.
I will soon be able to upgrade my HQ to 16, when my bots usually can’t deal with a max HQ15. Not complaining or anything, just an observation.
@Big Bronze Rim - curious about how long a top player like you has been playing this game...
Almost 645 days, stats are posted below. I wasnt in right at the beginning but close. I wish I had found my alliance family I’m with when I first started and I think I’d be even farther along. I likely would have started power leveling sooner and focused more on core war bots and power leveling trainers. With that said I’ve been with the Sly family for most of that and worked my way up through all our feeders. We’re not in the top 10 but are comfortably competitive (at least till hq 16 lol).
Sounds like you’re your on the cusp of a breakthrough with that many bots above 50. I found once I had a one shot gunner (Alpha Bravo was my first, who can one shot at 52/8) at a plane that can at least pop max beams and missles, you can usually do ok against a fair amount of hq 15 bases. Having one or more 4* healers also helps.
I agree about the grind to 50. It feels like it takes forever, even power leveling. I’ve got less used B and C team 4*s that have been 47-49 for months. I just run them on full squads in z12 when I want to medal hunt or resource raid, say after a SA upgrade or research.
One crystal by itself isn't worth anything, you need several to get a decent chance of a Warpath unlock.
My personal goal is that 30 crystals minimum must have been acquired before the events end.
There was someone in the game who believed all they needed to do to win Warpath was get to 6000, they had to be corrected on their error of assumption.
I think at this point, the game belongs to the alliances with 30-35 members and support networks with other Alliances built in.
For example, when the top rung of the alliance ladder gets their complete event prize, their most productive members go down to the next highest rung to maximise the crystals won for that alliance.
So based on this knowledge, an alliance with inactive members or not enough members just won't achieve the event goal.
Maybe it was added when the ability to use the opposing faction's character unlocks was implemented.
Since the number of unlocks was doubled, it would make sense to add additional team slots to accomodate that change.
It was a hypothetical calculation, that in order to use up all my power cells in one gameplay session, I'll need 10 teams at the cost of 5 cells per team.
But 9 is fairly close, so that's acceptable.
In my personal experience, I've also seen melee tanks/characters get that close to the HQ, so I assume they'd also be affected by the flamer HQ core.
A 2 and 3* Skullsmasher for my Decepticon alliance, and a 2* Warpath for my Autobot alliance. Still hunting for 4* versions though.
Depends on what level you want to play at, but I wouldn’t recommend wasting time upgrading most 3*’s to 51, there are only a few worth it...like healers, astrotrain/Springer, megatron/Optimus...everyone else will still be too weak for even hq 15, let alone being able to tackle hq 16...just something to think about...it is a 6 day upgrade
I have 20 maxed 3*’s only ones I will upgrade are reflector, shockwave, astrotrain and thundecracker...everyone else is not worth it...I might do megatron...but I won’t until I start chasing medals again
As far as powerleveling goes...I’m sure everyone tries to score as many points as possible for events...that’s why I don’t really get down with leaderboards...I usually on 2xp weekends send in one bot to 3 bot teams between zone 10-12, can I score more? Of course...but why? I can send ds or de into zone 10 solo for 16k on average xp, or 2 gunners and a healer in zone 12 for 8-9k each...basically if you are trying to “score” a lot of points means less xp for your troops...You’ll be leveling forever always sending 7 bots out during battles.
I completely agree. There are very few 3*s that will be worth taking past 51. Our alliance family stopped chasing LBs for that exact reason. Most 3*s aren’t worth the effort to be top 100. We spend the time power leveling and staying just outside the top 100 for spark and premium crystals.
As for powerleveling, that’s the only way to roll. Kup, strafe or SS and a training bot into z11 or 12 or a healer and 2 gunners in z11 result in far more xp than a full team.
My strongest gunners are maxed 3 Stars, so it makes sense for me to take them to 51.
