Well it's confirmed that a sequel will not happen due to Activision losing the contract to Hasbro. RIP best TF game after Fall of Cybertron...

It bugs me that the only TF games being supported are a mobile game with transactions worse than lootboxes and a Chinese multiplayer FPS that will more than likely never ship overseas. Sucks to be a Transformers fan in the video game industry. Guess we'll just make our own.

 

Grrrrrr. That's so aggravating. I'd rather get a sequel then yet another Bay movie at this point, because at least this could still be new and exciting. They would have to have both Autobot and Decepticon campaigns, I doubt Nova Prime and Unicron would spare anyone.

 

Playing through this now for the first time on the 360. I had gotten it much earlier, but then only got so far before doing other things. Having a blast, but then last night I keep getting killed trying to have Sideswipe do a bunch of platform jumping w/ moving platforms. I love how the game actually tells me not to get angry at it --- like it knew this was a frustrating part (!)

 

Okay, so Activision lost the contract, but couldn't Platinum Games simply be hired to do a sequel through whomever gets the contract next?

 

It could be possible, but it's likely Activison owns the "Devastation" series much like the "Cybertron" games. Whoever gets it next will have to do something different ie Kojima has his own studio but he can't make MGS games because Konami owns the brand.

 

That stinks. It truly does suck to be a g1 fan in the video game industry. I'm not the least bit interested in the TF mobile games.

 

I really do enjoy FORGED TO FIGHT. I just get rid of any non G1 or beast wars guys when I get them so its very much a g1 and beast wars game in my household

my favorite TF game though is PS2 Japan exclusive g1 game Call of the Future, then its Devastation, then forged to fight, and then its actually the PlayStation Beast Wars Transmetal game, pretty much any other game I wasnt interested in .

 

If it helps the "Cybertron" games did really well to get Transformers noticed as a game platform. So chances of some AAA publisher picking it up with Hasbro are pretty high and more than likely based on the classic designs.

Who knows, maybe Nintendo or Sony will give Hasbro a call. Just don't let it be EA.

 

Hasbro owns the rights to the property, it was only licensed through Activision. The ONLY leg they'd have to stand on is if the sequel was named Devastation 2, and even then I doubt there's anything Activision could do about it as long as the next company doesn't lift anything verbatim from Devastation without paying some sort of royalties.

 

Are you using the "power up" thingy that lets you hover after jumping??

Sorry for bringing the thread back, but I just bought a PS4 so I could play devastation which I just bought also . However I can’t find the DLC skins of red alert goldbug and nemesis prime . Now I see they removed it from the PS4 store . Is their any way I can get those? I was hoping to get those for my boy

Bit random but I'm surprised nobodies made a transformer evo music video with this game, could be pretty sweet.

 

Just got this at TRU for under $10. It was hiding on the bottom shelf in the corner behind 2 other random games.

 

I think they took out the DLC once the contract expired. No can do for the skins I'm afraid.

Better than going to Gamestop and the price is still over $20. The game is good, but even the marked down original price of $40 is still steep with how fast people can beat it under 4 hours.

 

yeah my nine year old boy beat it in that time and he said to me , why is it so short ?

 

You should have told him to go back and beat it on Prime

 

he plays it a lot still , hes only had it for about week now , hes beat it on beginner and medium difficulties so far but he is trying to beat it using each character now. Dont think he has tried the difficult level

seems like had they put in more characters and a decepticon campaign they could have really extended the play value on this game.

Makes you wonder if they did this on the cheap
